Anushka Sharma, home not alone

Want to send a letter to India's vice-captain Virat Kohli? Mail it to Badrinath Towers, 20th floor, Seven Bungalows; yes that is the address of Anushka Sharma's plush new pad.

India's whitewash in South Africa did not seem to have rattled the young cricketer who till he left for New Zealand with the Indian team early on Sunday, not only painted the town red with Anushka but had also parked himself on the 20th floor of Badrinath Towers where the actress recently bought three flats.
The 25 year old is one of the most popular cricketers in the current crop and easily recognisable. One of the watchmen on duty told TOIr on Saturday night: "Virat saab kal raat Anushka madam ke ghar par hi the. Paanch din se toh yahin par hain." His colleague further disclosed that Virat has been living in Anushka's pad since he came back from South Africa and while he would generally leave the building after 2 pm, he always returned by 8.30 pm.

Virat who is six months younger to Anushka had reportedly visited her before departing for South Africa too. She had come down to the building's lobby to see him off and the pair parted with a quick kiss.

Virat kept turning back to look at his 'just good friend' as his car left the parking area. Upon landing in the city from South Africa, his luggage was loaded in Anushka's Range Rover which entered the scene a trifle late.
While the other players left, he was seen waiting for some 20 minutes at the airport as Anushka's car was delayed. He did not hop into the Range Rover; but got into another car which was also sent by the actress.

Anushka and Virat first met when they were shooting for a shampoo commercial in August last year. And from the looks of it the game is still on.

Dedh Ishqiya movie review: Madhuri Dixit-Nene makes a perfect comeback to Bollywood.....

Madhuri Dixit-Nene’s fans have waited a long time to see the screen goddess back in movies. Trust us, Vishal Bharadwaj’s Dedh Ishqiya offers her the perfect platform for a comeback. The dhak-dhak gal finally announces with this one that she’s here to stay. For those who thought that Vidya Balan would be missed after Ishqiya, this film’s two heroines more than fill up the boombat babe’s place.Dedh Ishqiya is primarily an Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah film. Babban and Khaalujaan are still smalltime thieves from Bhopal, as they were in the prequel, and their chori and bhagaam bhaag is what lands them in the most lively of soups. This time, the broth is a Nawaabi jung between shayars (poets), through which Babban’s Khaalu is all set to woo the sought-after Begum Para (Madhuri Dixit) of Mahumadabad, the widow of a Nawab, a seductive beauty in her 40s. Babban’s uncle has hidden his true identity and is busy reciting love poems to the Begum as a poet named Iftekhar; the Begum herself has deeply hidden secrets. Loverboy nephew Babban falls head over heels in love with Begum’s closest associate Munira (Huma Qureshi). And amidst all the perfect shayaris in this perfectly budding love story of Begum and Khaalu enters the perfect villain Jaan Mohammad, who is as much in love with the Begum as he is with the idea of becoming the Nawab of Mahumadabad. What follows is a tale that has enough layers and twists as a nawabi paratha, all served up with beautiful music.

Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah as Babban and Khaalu are as adorable and entertaining as they were in Ishqiya. Shah shifts easily between playing the conniving thief and the archetypal romantic as he mouths ‘umda’ lines in Urdu. Arshad is the ultimate rowdy, crazy, slimy and very, very funny. The comic timing between the mama-bhanja pair is unmatched. They were the heroes of Ishqiya and now rule Dedh Ishqiya. Their chemistry is cracking, sizzling, an absolute delight to watch. They will make you laugh hysterically with their dialogue, body language and often just their mere presence.

Madhuri Dixit-Nene is ethereal and absolutely ageless. She is grace and beauty personified as Begum Para. When you watch her onscreen, it’s almost like you are savouring a glass of good wine that tastes great and lingers delightfully on your palate. Huma Qureshi holds her own amidst a set of great actors – Munira is no sidekick, but the character who will surprise you, shock you and keep you guessing.

Abhishek Chaubey sticks to Ishqiya’s premise, but creates a grander plot this time. He ensures that every character in the film is memorable and that Dedh Ishqiya itself is not a mere sequel for Ishqiya. The story, plot, look, feel, characters and music are interwoven intricately and served up as an appetising dish.All in all Dedh Ishqiya is a must watch for movie lovers. Unlike most of today’s commercial hit films, it is not a ‘no brainer’. Instead, take your thinking minds on an exciting joyride that impels you to enjoy an aesthetic and exciting movie watching experience. We give this film a near ‘Perrrrfect’ tag, in true Madhuri style!

Yaariyan movie review: This one may appeal to collegegoers; rest, stay away.

Divya Khosla Kumar’s directorial debut Yaariyan stars Himansh Kholi, Serah Singh, Rakul Preet Singh, Nicole Faria, Gulshan Grover and Deepti Naval. The movie revolves around four college friends who are pretty much good for nothing. Lakshya (Himansh) is desperate to experience his first kiss, but something goes wrong every time he aims to get it. What’s bizarre is that the entire college is gung-ho about Himansh’s first kiss. It doesn’t end there, with the youngsters. Even the teachers suffer from some hormonal locha and cannot keep their hands off each other. I am glad that I haven’t come across any such college in my life! The story shifts from the touchy mode to sports, Australia, racial attacks, patriotism and lots of cleavage popping out of the screen into your face. Divya tries to incorporate too many issues into one plot. That’s why Yaariyan failed to make any impact on me. Maybe collegegoers won’t mind watching a film that hardly makes sense. After all, class bunk marke thodi na koi meaningful picture dekhne jayega!

It will be 'Happy New Year' this Diwali!

If all goes well, the Bollywood box office will belong to Shah Rukh Khan this Diwali -- his much-awaited film 'Happy New Year' is scheduled for an October 23 release.

An official source told : "'Happy New Year' will be a Diwali release."

Sivakarthikeyan has been having a good run in Kollywood, with films like ‘Ethir Neechal’. This year, he has ‘Maan Karate’ getting set for release. The film directed by Thirukumaran has story and screenplay by A.R Murugadoss. The title ‘Maan Karate’ has kindled interest in the film. It comes from a line spoken by Dhamu in ‘Gemini’. He explains the meaning of knowing the martial art ‘Maan Karate’. It’s the art of running away like a ‘maan’ or deer at the first sign of danger. Apparently, Sivakarthikeyan is an exponent of ‘Maan Karate’ in the film.

The versatile Kamal Haasan is busy putting the finishing touches to the sequel of his very slick ‘Vishwaroopam’. The film in which he also stars in the lead role is expected to be a Tamil New Year release. And, hopefully, it will be spared the problems and controversies that delayed the release of the first part last year.
