"On the banks of the Hooghly, faith has found a home for over 170 years."
📍 Dakshineswar Kali Temple —
Built in 1855 by Rani Rashmoni, the Dakshineswar Kali Temple stands on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River and remains one of India's most iconic temple complexes. Dedicated to Goddess Bhavatarini, a form of Kali, the temple is renowned for its striking nine-spired architecture and its association with the mystic saint Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, who served here as a priest.
For generations, devotees have believed that prayers offered here bring strength, guidance, and inner peace. Yet beyond faith, Dakshineswar is also a place where history, architecture, and the cultural identity of Bengal come together.
📸 More than a monument, it is a living chapter of Bengal's spiritual and social history.
