The leader of this country, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, has given K5 million to every player of the Scorchers team.
The First Lady, Professor Gertrude Mutharika, presented the money on behalf of the country's leader during a luncheon she organized for the team's players.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Mutharika stated that the Scorchers girls have united Malawians and brought joy. She also promised that she will do everything possible to ensure the team prepares well for the World Cup tournament, which will take place in Brazil next year.
Meanwhile, National Bank has announced that it will provide K500 million toward the bonuses that the players will receive, and cabinet ministers have contributed K25 million to the team.
