Popular Odia playback singer Humane Sagar, known for his soulful voice and hit songs, passed away today at the age of 34.

Sagar had been admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar in a critical condition for several days. Reports say he was suffering from multi-organ dysfunction, acute chronic liver failure, bilateral pneumonia, and other complications.
According to hospital sources, he was on life support.

His death has sent shockwaves through Odisha’s music community. The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of one of the state’s most beloved singers.

Sagar rose to fame after winning Voice of Odisha – Season 2 in 2012.
Beyond music, he was also active in politics: he had joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

A fisherman from South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, was lost at sea for 5 days after a storm overturned his fishing boat near Haldia.
🌊 No food. No fresh water.
☁️ Just the sky above and the sea below.
💧 He drank rainwater to stay alive.

But Rabindranath didn’t give up.
He swam non-stop — for five days, covering over 600 kilometers — until a ship near Qutubdiya Island (Bangladesh) spotted him.

⚓ The ship ‘MV Jawad’ turned course, threw a life jacket, and saved him using a crane. The sailors on board erupted in cheers — not just for a man, but for humanity.

📹 The rescue was caught on camera… and it still gives goosebumps.
A salute to those brave hearts who remind us —

FM College Balasore student Soumyashree Bisi, who had attempted self-immolation to protest alleged harassment and administrative inaction, has sadly passed away. She was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar with 95% burns and was declared clinically dead at 11:46 PM.
Official announcement came later — CM Mohan Majhi posted about her death on X at 1:01 AM, followed by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at 1:02 AM.
This heartbreaking incident raises serious questions about women’s safety and justice in educational institutions.

A college student allegedly set herself on fire in front of the college gate after accusing a lecturer of misbehavior.

According to reports, the student had complained about the lecturer’s inappropriate behavior but no strict action was taken, leading her to take this extreme step in distress.

She was rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition. Police have begun an investigation, and the college management has not yet given an official statement.
