नेपाली समाजको मौलिक पहिचान बोकेको राउटे समुदाय –
जसले न त खेत जोत्न जान्दछ, न त घर बनाउने चासो राख्छ,
न त स्थायित्वको मोह, न त सुविधाको चाहना –
तर स्वतन्त्रताको पराकाष्ठा बोकेको जीवनशैली,
आज एकदमै चोटिल छ…
किनकि त्यो जीवनशैलीलाई अगाडि बढाउने,
त्यसको पहिचानलाई जोगाउने,
र सदियौँको मौनता बोल्ने एक पात्र – सूर्यनारायण शाही
अब हामीबीच रहेनन्।
को थिए सूर्यनारायण शाही?
– उनी राउटे समुदायका 'राजा' अर्थात मुखिया थिए।
– हजारौं वर्षदेखि लोप हुँदै गएको घुमन्ते संस्कृतिलाई जोगाउँदै,
उनी सिर्जनशील विद्रोह र मौन परम्पराको आवाज बने।
– उनले राज्यसँग संवाद गरे, सञ्चारसँग सामना गरे,
तर आफ्नो समुदायको मौलिकता कहिल्यै बेचेनन्।
राउटे भनेको के हो?
– यो समुदाय जंगलमै बाँच्ने, रुख काटेर हातहतियार बनाउने,
धनुष बाण चलाउने, माछा मार्ने, तर जीव जन्तु मारेपछि माफी माग्ने संस्कृति हो।
– उनीहरू कुनै धर्म, जात, राजनीति वा राष्ट्रियता भन्दा माथि छन् –
प्रकृतिका सन्तान हुन्।
आज हामीले सूर्यनारायण शाही मात्र गुमाएका छैनौँ,
एक इतिहास बोकेको जिउँदो पुस्तक गुमाएका छौँ।
उनको मृत्युसँगै अब प्रश्न उठ्न थालेको छ –
– के अब राउटे समुदाय आफ्नो मौलिकता जोगाउन सक्ला?
– के उनीहरूको अस्तित्व बाँच्ला या सभ्यताको नाममा विलीन होला?
हामीले स्मार्टफोन बोक्यौँ, उनीहरूले धनुष।
हामीले इँटाको घर बनायौँ, उनीहरूले जंगलको घाँटीमा घर।
हामी GPS खोज्छौँ, उनीहरू चन्द्रमाको चाल हेरेर बाटो पत्ता लगाउँछन्।
आज हामी बाँच्ने सभ्यताको भीडमा,
उनीहरू जोगिने अस्तित्वको भीडमा हराउँदै छन्।
निष्कर्षमा:
सूर्यनारायण शाहीको निधनले हामीलाई एउटा गहिरो प्रश्न छाडेको छ –
के हामी साँच्चिकै विकास गर्दैछौं,
कि मौलिकता मारेको हिसाब किताब नगरीकन अगाडि बढ्दैछौं?
यस युगका राजा गएका छन् –
तर राउटे जातिको आत्मा, आत्मसम्मान र अस्तित्व बचाउन अब हामी बाँकी छौं।
