Prajakta Bhange - 13th BCS Speech
At the 13th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad emphasizes that youth leadership in politics should move beyond slogans and become a practical reality. She argues that democracy cannot remain strong if young people avoid politics due to fear or hesitation. According to her, real change requires active participation, responsibility, and courage to step beyond comfort zones. Youth leadership is not about aggressive speeches or seeking power, but about accountability, ethical decision-making, and public service. She highlights the importance of grassroots involvement and policy engagement to strengthen democratic institutions. Prajakta Bhange also stresses that the youth possess energy, innovation, and ideas, which must be channelized constructively to address social issues like unemployment, inequality, and corruption. She concludes by urging young citizens to stop being passive observers and instead actively participate, question systems, and contribute responsibly to nation-building and democratic progress.
Politics is often seen as something distant or dirty, but democracy cannot survive if young people stay away from it. You cannot cross an ocean by standing on the shore, and you cannot achieve change by only talking about it. If we truly want transformation, we must step forward, break our limitations, and prepare ourselves to lead.
We, as young citizens, have energy, ideas, and innovation. But if this energy is not directed towards constructive leadership and public service, it will be wasted. Entering politics is not about power; it is about service. It is about strengthening democratic institutions and working for social justice, equality, and development.
