🚨 Breaking News

Maddur police have registered a case against Vijayapura MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal for allegedly making a provocative speech during his visit to Maddur on Thursday evening.

🔹 Police allege that Yatnal’s remarks included comments on Ganapati processions passing in front of mosques, statements targeting a particular community, and a warning that “illegal mosques” would be bulldozed if he came to power.
🔹 Authorities said the speech was made with the intent to hurt religious sentiments and promote enmity between communities.
🔹 A case has been filed under relevant sections, and further investigation is underway.

Former Maharashtra Governor and NDA nominee CP Radhakrishnan has won the Vice President election held today, defeating Opposition candidate Justice B. Sudershan Reddy.

📊 Election Highlights:

✅ Votes cast: 767 (98.2% turnout)
✅ Radhakrishnan: 452 first-preference votes
✅ Reddy: 300 votes

ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಗೌರವ! ಲೇಖಕಿ, ವಕೀಲ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರ್ತಿಯಾದ ಬಾನು ಮುಷ್ತಾಕ್ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೃತಿಯಾದ ‘ಹಾರ್ಟ್ ಲ್ಯಾಂಪ್ (Heart Lamp)’ ಮೂಲಕ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಬುಕ್ಕರ್ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗೆ ಭಾಜನರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಗೆಲ್ಲುವ ಮೂಲಕ ‘ಹಾರ್ಟ್ ಲ್ಯಾಂಪ್’ ಮೊದಲ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೃತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮೈಲಿಗಲ್ಲಿನಂತ short story collection ಆಗಿ ವಿಶ್ವಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಪಡುವ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇದು 1990ರಿಂದ 2023ರವರೆಗೆ ಬರೆದ 12 ಕಥೆಗಳ ಸಂಕಲನವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ನಿತ್ಯ ಜೀವನ, ಸಂಕಟಗಳು, ಧರ್ಮ, ಜಾತಿ, ಲಿಂಗ ಹಾಗೂ ಪಿತೃಸತ್ತಾತ್ಮಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ನಡುವಿನ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ಮನಮುಟ್ಟುವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಈ ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ದೀಪಾ ಭಾಸ್ತಿ ಅವರು ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್‌ಗೆ ಅನುವಾದಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಅವರು ಸಹ ಭಾರತದ ಮೊದಲ International Booker Prize ಗೆದ್ದ ಅನುವಾದಕಿ ಎಂಬ ಗೌರವಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾತ್ರರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇದೊಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕ್ಷಣ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ವದ ಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟ ಈ ಸಾಧನೆಯಿಂದ ಅನುವಾದಿತ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಗಳ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಹಾಗೂ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ.
