Remembering Sanjarang Lakheswar Brahma on his 41st Death Anniversary🌺🙏

Lakheswar Brahma, also known by Sanjarang was well-known an Indian Bodo poet, writer, cultural activist, social worker and teacher by profession. He was the author of masterpiece work ‘Bwisagu Arw Harimu’. Many of his literary works are selected as syllabus for the textbook and reference from high school to university level.

He was born on 1st of May 1941 at Bathopara village of Panbari under Chirang district. Lakheswar Brahma was highly educated and professor of Bijni College in History.

As a social worker he was the president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha, founder of Bijni Town, founder of Bijni District Sports Association, Kherai Bathousali and one of the founders of Bijni College, Bijni under Chirang district. After his death, he known as Sanjarang by sobriquet.

The Bijni College Bodo Literary Society (BCBLS) celebrates his death anniversary as Sanjarang Lakheswar Brahma Memorial Day annually for his contributions for Bijni College as well as in the society. He was died on 2nd of September in 1983 at the age of 42.

Lakheswar Brahma selected as a president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha in 1977. He was very active and hard woking as well as closely related to the organization since 1970 and till his death. After his death the Bodo Sahitya Sabha has been conferring Sanjarang Lakheswar Brahma Cultural Award every year since 2004 to honour him for his contributions to Bodo literature and society. Posthumously the noted Bodo folk singer Jwhwlao Nileswar Brahma awarded as first Sanjarang Lakheswar Brahma Cultural Award in 2004.

In 1999, he posthumously awarded Someswari Brahma Literary Award by Bodo Sahitya Sabha for his work Bwisagu Arw Harimu.

| Mr. Hadung Gwra Basumatary, student of Jwngma Residential Bodo Medium HS School, Bijni, secured 91.16 percentage in HSLC Final Examination, 2024 with Letter Marks in all subjects and 100% marks secured in Advance Mathematics.

It is worth mentioning that out of a total of 39 students who took the examination from Jwngma Residential HS School, passed 24 in the first grade and 15 in the second grade. The pass rate is 100%.

In the Final match Bijni Town Club defeated Sobhaijhar Block BPF. And Bijni Town Club won the winner trophy, otherside Sobhaijhar Block BPF won the runner up trophy.

| RB XI Chatiyanguri won the 30th Bijni T20 Cup.

30th Bijni T20 Cup cricket tournament organised by the Yubak Sangha, Bijni and supported by Chirang Police held at Bijni Vidyapeeth Higher Secondary School Playground.

Today, in the final match RB XI Chatiyanguri defeated Young Star Club Kokrajhar and RB XI Chatiyanguri won the winner trophy otherside Young Star Club won the Runnersup trophy.

In this grand finale participated Ajoy Kumar Ray, MLA of Bijni LAC along with MCLA Prabhat basumatary of Subhaijhar Constituency as a guest.
