District Election Cell holds Interactive session with students under SVEEP

KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 10: A day-long training program on Special Summary Revision for Supervisors and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of 63-Bani Assembly Constituency was held today at SDM Office Complex, Bani.

A total of 102 supervisors and BLOs underwent the day-long training.

The Election Cell team explained in detail different components of the special summary revision schedule including processing of new form 6, 6B, 7, 8, Aadhaar linkage with Epics, 100 percent photo coverage in Electoral Roll, uploading of AMF/ EMF etc. The queries raised by the trainees were also replied to by the team of election cell.

Secretary YSS convenes meeting of sports associations in Jammu

Reviews preparedness, participation in 36th National Games

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 10: Secretary, Youth Services and Sports (YSS) and Tourism departments, Sarmad Hafeez, today convened a meeting to review preparedness and participation of J&K contingents in the 36th National games to be held in Gujrat later this month.

Addressing the representatives of sports associations of different games, Sarmad Hafeez said, “this review meeting has been called to crosscheck our preparations and take note of all possible steps need to be taken to mitigate the concerns of teams and athletes before the prestigious event.

Secretary directed the representatives of the associations to ensure proper selection trials before the departure of contingents to the prestigious event in a transparent manner. He assured that the Sports Council would provide best facilities to athletes under norms to boost their morale and achieve desired results.

Bulletin on Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19)

JK reports 59 fresh positive cases, 473421 recovered

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 10:The Government today informed that 64 fresh positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19)have been reported today; 13 from Jammu division and 46 from Kashmir division, thus taking the total number of positive cases to 478685.

Moreover, 131 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 45 from Jammu division and 86from Kashmir division.

According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 478685 positive cases, 480are Active Positive (120 in Jammu Division and 360 in Kashmir Division), 473421 have recovered and 4784have died; 2351 in Jammu division and 2433in Kashmir division.

The Bulletin also informs that 14,430 doses of COVID Vaccine have been administered in the last 24 hours across Jammu and Kashmir bringing the cumulative number of doses administered to 2,44,31,419 till date.

BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 10: Commissioner Secretary, Revenue, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, on Saturday visited Bandipora district and took stock of progress on various revenue services in the district.

Commissioner Secretary took a detailed review of recent initiatives including Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani” Land Records Information System, Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas (SVAMITVA) besides digitalization of land records.

Commissioner Secretary also took stock of progress on encroachment drives, demarcation of government land, inspection of revenue records, progress on digitization of Jamabandis/Girdawari, missing Land Record, status of Patwar Khana and other vital issues.

Amit shares J&K initiatives during National Mines Ministers’ conference

HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 10: Secretary Mining, Amit Sharma, while representing Jammu and Kashmir in two day National Mines Ministers’ conference held at Hyderabad, shared recent initiatives taken up by the UT administration towards ensuring added transparency and raising productivity in the Coal and Mining sectors.

The conference was presided over by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal & Mines, Pralhad Joshi, who shared his vision of taking nation forward in these key high potential sectors.

Amit Sharma, during his address, mentioned about several key initiatives undertaken in J&K recently which inter alia included launch of G2B2C portal for provisioning of e-Marketplace to sellers and buyers of mining materials and introduction of QR-code based e-Challans to ensure transparency in working of department, initiation of Mining Surveillance System, hi-tech mineral check posts and upcoming project of using drone and PTZ cameras for random checking of illegal mining at vulnerable points.

Dulloo reviews progress of CSS implemented by LDD across J&K

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 10: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department (APD), Atal Dulloo chaired a meeting to review the progress on several Central Sponsored Schemes (CSS) being implemented by Livestock Development Board (LDB) of Jammu and Kashmir at Civil Secretariat here.

During the meeting, Atal Dulloo took district-wise review of schemes implemented by LDB and the progress achieved on implementation of these schemes. He impressed upon the officers to work with full commitment and dedication so that the desired results can be obtained on ground.

During the meeting, the ACS also discussed ways to improve milk production rate across Jammu & Kashmir. He asked the officers that field staff needs to be trained so that they can contribute to the objective of amplifying milk production here.

Justice Magrey visits Central Jail Srinagar, reviews facilities for inmates

Says 'incarceration has many consequences on family, dependents of alleged offender'

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 10: Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary Home, R K Goel and other senior officers of government and Legal Services Institutions today visited Central Jail Srinagar to take stock of condition of Central Jail Srinagar including facilities for inmates.

On the occasion, Justice Magrey was presented guard of honour by the CRPF.

Afterwards, DGP Prisons, H K Lohia, accompanied Justice Magrey to male and female blocks of the inmates.

Justice Magrey had interaction with the inmates there regarding the facilities being made available to them. He directed the legal services officers to ensure that no UTP should remain unrepresented in the court.

Lt Governor chairs high level meeting to review functioning of Revenue Department

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 09: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today reviewed the functioning of Revenue Department at the Civil Secretariat.

The Lt Governor appraised implementation of several initiatives undertaken by the department for ensuring smooth delivery of services to the public.

The Lt Governor was briefed about Aapki Zameen Aapki Nigrani; Digitization of Land Records; Change of Land Use; issuance of Land Passbooks and Property cards; SVAMITVA Scheme etc.

Obsolete rules should be repealed and replaced with a more people-oriented regulatory system for ease of living, ease of governance and overall improvement of the efficiency of the Revenue department, the Lt Governor directed the officials.

The Lt Governor instructed the senior officials of the revenue department to work out viable solutions to address issues and challenges.

The Lt Governor emphasized on streamlining of online-Revenue Services to make the system more transparent & accountable to the common people.

He further advised for mapping of forest land, besides creating a dedicated IT cell in the Revenue department.

While reviewing the progress made under Land Records Information System, the chair was informed that a total of 8,21,40,595 of scanned documents, including Jamabandis, Mutations and Girdawaris have been uploaded till date.

Pr. Secy PWD visits Anantnag, reviews overall developmental scenario of the district

ANANTNAG AUGUST 06: Principal Secretary, Public Works (R&B) Department (PWD), Shailendra Kumar, who is also the incharge Secretary for District Anantnag today visited the district and took review of overall development scenario here.

During the visit, the Principal Secretary also chaired a meeting at Dak Banglow here with senior officers of the district administration and reviewed the progress achieved on District Capex 2022- 23, CSS, JJM and other public welfare programmes.

DDC Anantnag, Dr.Piyush Singla; SSP Anantnag, Ashish Mishra; Principal GMC, Dr. Tariq Qureshi; ADDC, district officers of various departments and others concerned attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the Principal Secretary took sector wise review of the District Capex, 2022- 23 and emphasised upon officers to accelerate the pace of developmental works being executed so that theyare competed within given timelines. He impressed upon the officers to work with extra zeal and dedication in improving the performance in their respective sectors. He also sought feedback from department heads on the various developmental and welfare issues of the district.

Holders of Arms licenses not uploaded on NDAL-ALIS to deposit arms within 15 days: DM Jammu

JAMMU, AUGUST 06: District Magistrate Jammu (under section 47 of Arms Rule 2016) has directed all persons holding Individual Arms licenses which have not been uploaded on NDAL-ALIS portal to deposit their arms and ammunition within 15 days either with the officer-incharge of the nearest police station or with a dealer holding a license in Form VIII, or, in case he is a member of the armed forces of the Union, in the unit armoury.

“As per Arms Act 1959, and Arms Rule, 2016 all Individual Arms Licenses which are not uploaded on the NDAL-ALIS portal are invalid.

DC Kathua reviews Independence Day arrangements

KATHUA, AUGUST 06: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting of officers to discuss arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day-2022.

During the meeting, it was decided that the main function will be held at Sports Stadium, Kathua, where the VIP will hoist the National Flag at 08:55 am and take salute at 32 march past contingents comprising of Police, Army, Para Military forces, NCC, platoons of Schools, Colleges besides bands of different .

The celebrations on the day will begin with the playing of ‘Shehnai Vadan’ and patriotic songs by the Information Department in the wee hours at the Deputy Commissioner Office and SSP Office Kathua.

Bike rally taken out in Rajouri to promote Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

Event aims to inculcate personal connect between citizens & National Flag: DC

RAJOURI, AUGUST 06: In continuation to the series of activities being organised in the district as part of ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the District Administration Rajouri today organised a bike rally.

The rally was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Kundal. The rally started from Salani Bridge and culminated at Sports Stadium Kheora after passing through Muradpur and Badhoon circuit. As many as 100 bikers from across the district participated in the rally.

Among others present at the event included SSP, Mohd Aslam; PO ICDS, Shoket Mehmood Malik; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; AD FCS&CA, Arief Lone; DYSSO, Sunil Samyal; ARTO, Shami Kumar and AD Planning, Mohd Rafi.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Commissioner said that the objective of the rally was to generate awareness among the general public about Har Ghar Tiranga, Nasha Mukht Bharat abhiyan, digital services, road safety and Jan Bhagidari.

Vice- Chairperson DDC Udhampur felicitates meritorious students of GHS Bland

Hails achievers of far flung area for excelling in 10 class results

RAMNAGAR, AUGUST 06: Vice Chairperson District Development Council Udhampur, Juhi Manhas Pathania hosted a colourful programme in the premises of the Government High school Bland to felicitate students, staff and parents for excellent results in recently declared Class 10 results.

She was accompanied by Mool Raj, DDC member Ramnagar-1 and Jasvir Singh, member DDC Pancheri.

Both of them spoke and shared their valuable views. Rathar Jasvir underscored the need for adequate staff in schools of Panchari, Mongri areas. Situated in the heart of a dense forest area (Parlidhar), the school has least staff, lesser infrastructure and other recreational facilities. But the students of the area have excelled in the recently declared 10th class results. One of the students has secured 93% marks. All the students have passed the matriculation examination.

This is a remarkable jump in the overall performance of the school. It is the same vein that Ritika Sharma from Badhole has secured the first position in the overall matriculation examination while securing 499 out of 500 marks. She also reads in government school Badhol. It is in the same vein that students of the Udhampur area have tried to do their best to bring laurels to their area, to their parents and to their schools despite all hiccups and hardships."If all the students passed when the staff had been performing in such a situation, we need to appreciate and honour them" she said. A prize distribution ceremony was held in the premises of the school.

From Kathua to Kupwara, people of J&K enthusiastic for ‘Har Ghar Tiranga'

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 06: From Kathua to Kupwara, people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly children are organising rallies, waving Tiranga and are enthusiastically waiting to join ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

The campaign is being celebrated under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence from 13th to 15th August.

The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.

Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the flag home collectively as a nation in the 75th year of independence thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tiranga but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building.

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 05: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today dedicated the Upgraded & Revamped Bakshi Stadium at Srinagar to the Sportspersons of J&K.

Terming the occasion as historic, the Lt Governor said that the stadium upgraded at a cost of Rs 59 cr is one more step towards realizing the high-spirited dreams & aspirations of the youth to earn glory through their performances on the field.

The Lt Governor observed that Bakshi Stadium has been a central place of youth for decades, nurturing many dreams and making local sportspersons famous all over the country. This Stadium infused the passion of sports into the lives of millions of people and the legacy has been passed to the new generation, he added.

There were clear directions from the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to develop MA Stadium in Jammu as per ICC Standards and Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar as per FIFA Standards, he further added.

Lauding the determination and dedication of J&K’s young sportspersons, the Lt Governor said that the UT Administration has assigned top priority to nurture a flourishing sports culture among youth at grass-root level in order to identify their talent and provide them opportunities to showcase their skills.

Massive expansion of sports infrastructure is taking place in J&K. New sports facilities are being developed, world class coaching is being provided to hone the skills of the sportspersons from various sports disciplines, the Lt Governor observed.

Ellahi Bagh Stadium Downtown is ready and will be dedicated to the people before 15 August, announced the Lt Governor.

Today, we have been able to create 22 Indoor Multi-Purpose Halls in 20 districts, besides 38 Khelo India Centers have been established in various disciplines of sports. Further, work on 948 Sports infrastructure projects are going on, which will be completed in the current financial year, the Lt Governor informed.

The Lt Governor appreciated the Sports department, J&K Sports Council, and all stakeholders for relentlessly working to identify and nurture young talent.

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 05: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today flagged off “The Great India Run” from the iconic Lal Chowk Srinagar.

The marathoners will cover a distance of more than 800 kms from Srinagar to New Delhi with the message of peace and national integration.

The run is being dedicated to the 'HarGharTiranga' campaign to mark 'AzadiKaAmritMahotsav'. The venue was decorated with 75 Indian tricolours to mark 75 years of Independence.

The occasion also witnessed the children celebrating ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign as a part of the marathon.

The relay-run will go across 4 states covering the routes- Banihal, Patnitop, Mansar Lake, Dinanagar, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, Ambala Cantt before culminating at India Gate on the occasion of Independence Day.

The first leg of the run is being led by Ultra-marathon runner, Arun Bhardwaj.

Some of India's most iconic sports legends including PT Usha, 'Queen' of Track & Field; Anju Bobby George, World Championship Medalist; Commonwealth Champions, former Indian Cricketers, footballers among others will join in the various legs of the run.

Sh Kartikeya Sharma, Member Parliament Rajya Sabha; Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary; Sh Dilbag Singh, DGP J&K; Sh Vijay Kumar, ADGP Kashmir, besides senior officials and people from all walks of life were present on the occasion.

Bulletin on Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19)

JK reports 685 fresh positive cases, 453551recovered

SRINAGAR, JULY 28:The Government today informed that 685 fresh positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19) have been reported today; 262 from Jammu division and 423 from Kashmir division, thus taking the total number of positive cases to 462633. Also, 01 COVID death has been reported from Kashmir division.

Moreover, 443 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 231 from Jammu division and 212from Kashmir division.

According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 462633positive cases, 4316are Active Positive (1954in Jammu Division and 2362in Kashmir Division), 453551have recovered and 4766 have died; 2338 in Jammu division and 2428 in Kashmir division.

The Bulletin further said that out of 26086674 test results available, 462633samples have tested positive and 25624042 samples have been tested as negative till date. Besides, 14,872COVID tests have been conducted in last 24 hours.

Till date 6696177 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 117persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4316in isolation and 266in home surveillance. Besides, 6686712 persons have completed their surveillance period.
