RUPA, August 4:

In a significant development for the youth, the Kameng Youth Association (KYA) has been officially revived after more than a decade. The association, which was first established in 2010 and remained active until 2013, has now been reconstituted with a new executive body.

During the revival meeting, Nima Sangcho was unanimously selected as the President, while Sonal Sakrinsow was appointed as the General Secretary.

The revival of the Kameng Youth Association is expected to provide a common platform for the youths to work collectively towards social welfare, youth empowerment, community development, and the preservation of the region's rich cultural heritage.

Members expressed optimism that the revived association will actively engage in constructive initiatives and strengthen youth participation in addressing issues affecting the district. The newly formed executive also appealed to the youth to unite and actively contribute towards the association's future activities.

AAPWU Thrizino Block Conducts Social Service Ahead of Independence Veteran Cup

Cleaning Drive Organised at Thrizino General Ground Before August 6 Inauguration

Thrizino, August 4: In preparation for the upcoming Independence Veteran Cup 2026, the All Arunachal Pradesh Workers Union (AAPWU), Thrizino Block, carried out a social service and cleanliness drive at the Thrizino General Ground on Monday.

Union members actively participated in cleaning the ground and its surrounding areas to ensure the venue is ready for the tournament's official inauguration, scheduled to be held on August 6. The initiative reflects the union's commitment to promoting cleanliness, community participation, and the successful conduct of the sporting event.

The Independence Veteran Cup is expected to bring together veteran football enthusiasts and local spectators, making the social service drive an important step towards creating a clean and welcoming environment for players and visitors alike.

Due to the large number of spectators, parking space near the venue has become limited, causing traffic congestion and inconvenience to people travelling through the road.

We kindly request everyone to park their cars and bikes at the Main Ground, Dirang, which offers ample parking space and is only a short walk from the SSB Ground.

Your cooperation will help ensure smooth traffic flow and make the tournament enjoyable for everyone.

The District Administration of West Kameng has launched the 'Gems of India – National Creators Initiative', a unique opportunity for aspiring digital creators to showcase the district's rich culture, traditions, tourism, history, heritage, and untold stories through original video content.

As part of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's nationwide "Gems of India" Challenge, the initiative aims to discover and promote talented grassroots creators, with Arunachal Pradesh selected among the pilot states.

Participants are invited to create original videos of 1–3 minutes highlighting the unique identity of West Kameng and submit their entries on the MyWAVES platform between August 1 and August 31, 2026.

The competition features exciting rewards, including ₹50,000 for up to 20 district-level winners, a ₹2 lakh award for one outstanding creator at the state level, and an opportunity to compete for the ₹5 lakh National Award.

The District Administration has encouraged filmmakers, vloggers, photographers, storytellers, and content creators to make the most of this opportunity and proudly represent West Kameng on the national stage by sharing authentic stories that celebrate the district's vibrant heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and cultural richness.

ABSU Celebrates 21st Foundation Day at Dikhiyang

Union marks milestone with educational support and student empowerment initiatives

Dikhiyang, July 29: The All Bugun Students' Union (ABSU) celebrated its 21st Foundation Day at Government Primary School, Dikhiyang, with a programme aimed at empowering both students and teachers through educational encouragement and support.

The programme was led by ABSU President Sani Bachung and General Secretary Rohit Mosbu, along with other union members. Teachers, students, and local residents also took part in the celebration.
