TOI Sharad Shrestha Durga Puja marks the beginning of the festive season, ending a year long wait to usher home the daughter of Bengal.

With the objective to make Durga Puja fun, safe, happy and meaningful TOI has organised Sharad Shrestha. The word Sharad is a Sanskrit word that means early autumn season in the Hindu calendar. Shrestha is a Sanskrit word that means greatness. Sharad Shrestha celebrates the grandeur and magnificence of Durga Puja in Kolkata. Established artists and art students are giving aesthetic interpretations

to Durga Puja across the city and TOI recognises the effort of the artisans and the spirit of Puja. A dedicated panel of judges surveys the pandals, exploring the various facets of the pujas — from splendid idols, idol decoration, pandal design and layout and organisation.
