We are told to be patient, to volunteer, to “build experience,” yet we are building nothing but frustration. Degrees gather dust, dreams shrink, and hope wears thin. With each sunrise, another qualified youth joins the swelling ranks of the forgotten. It is from this place — not of disrespect, but of deep disappointment , that I write to you today.

"He Took Our Freedom": The Man Accused of Trafficking Over 200 Batswana in the UK

LONDON, UK – Fear. Exploitation. Broken promises. For years, dozens of Batswana living in the United Kingdom say they were trapped in silence—caught in a web spun by a man who claimed to be their saviour, but became their captor. Now, that silence has been shattered.

On June 3rd, UK authorities arrested 37-year-old Botswana national Thato Sejabodile along with five alleged accomplices. The group is accused of masterminding a human trafficking operation that smuggled more than 200 Batswana into the UK through false asylum claims—only to exploit them in underpaid, illegal care home jobs.

“He made us believe he was helping,” one victim told Paragon International News, “but once we arrived, he took our passports, our salaries, and our lives.”

Sejabodile allegedly posed as a legal expert, using fear and manipulation to maintain control over his victims—many of whom became undocumented due to expired permits and deliberate sabotage.

Now, a growing number of survivors are breaking their silence—speaking out in exclusive testimony about the years they spent under his hold, and the fight to reclaim their freedom.

This is not just a story about immigration—it’s about power, control, and betrayal within our own community.

At a school fundraising event at Laerskool Protearif in Krugersdorp, South Africa, two children miraculously survived a harrowing 40‑foot fall after a sudden gust of wind lifted their inflatable jumping castle high into the air.
