Tech Giants Warn H-1B Employees Amid Trump’s $100,000 Fee Hike!

Amazon, Microsoft, Meta and other major US tech firms have advised their H-1B visa employees not to leave the country following President Trump’s dramatic increase in H-1B visa fees to $100,000 per year.

Internal communications reveal employees outside the US were asked to return within 24 hours to avoid denial of re-entry, while those already in the country were told to stay put for at least 14 days.

An Indian national has become the first migrant deported from the UK to France under the newly launched “one in, one out” agreement.

The man, who had arrived in the UK via a small boat crossing, was flown out on Thursday morning aboard an Air France flight to Paris.

This comes just over a month after London and Paris struck the year-long pilot scheme, aimed at deterring dangerous Channel crossings by exchanging migrants between the two nations.

Later the same day, the UK High Court rejected an appeal to halt the deportation of an Eritrean man, clearing the path for his removal to France as early as Friday morning.

French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron are set to provide “photographic and scientific evidence” to prove that France’s First Lady is not transgender, after suing US far-right commentator Candace Owens for defamation.

Owens had repeatedly spread baseless and transphobic allegations that Mrs Macron was born male under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux and had “groomed” a teenage Emmanuel Macron before transitioning.

Calling the claims “incredibly upsetting” and a political distraction, the Macrons’ lawyer Tom Clare said the couple are ready to prove them “fully, both generically and specifically” in court.

Lula Blasts Trump Over Brazil–US Tensions!

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has declared that he has “no relationship” with US President Donald Trump, adding that the American people will pay for Trump’s mistakes in handling ties with Brazil.

In an exclusive BBC interview, Lula said he will not call the American leader, slamming the 50% tariffs Trump imposed on Brazilian goods in July. The tariffs, which Trump linked to the coup trial of ex-president Jair Bolsonaro, have further strained relations despite the US holding a trade surplus with Brazil.

Lula dismissed the move as “eminently political”, warning that US consumers will now bear the brunt with higher prices for Brazilian imports.

The United States has announced it will revoke the sanctions waiver granted in 2018 for operations at Iran’s Chabahar Port, effective September 29, 2025.

The waiver, issued under the Iran Freedom and Counter-Proliferation Act (IFCA), had allowed India and other countries to continue working on the strategic port without risking US penalties.

Chabahar holds critical importance for India, offering a vital trade route to Afghanistan and Central Asia while bypassing Pakistan.

Washington’s revocation comes as part of its “maximum pressure” campaign against Tehran.
