Morni Hills Declared Sensitive Area
Public Warned of Landslides and Road Blocks

The Panchkula administration has issued an advisory after days of heavy rain and more showers expected ahead. Deputy Commissioner Monika Gupta said the Morni region, which has 14 revenue estates, is highly sensitive to landslides and road blockages. People have been asked to stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel in hilly areas. Emergency staff have been put on standby to deal with any situation.

Strong Start Secures 4-1 Victory at Sector 42

In a thrilling hockey final, 3BRD Air Force emerged as champions with a 4-1 win over SGGS College Hockey Academy. The Air Force side struck early, with Lovedeep converting a penalty corner in the 3rd minute, followed by Sunit’s goal in the 19th. Angadbir Singh revived hopes for the academy by scoring in the 25th minute. The fast-paced game saw a heated exchange between players, but referees managed to calm the situation. Air Force maintained their lead and secured the state championship with a commanding performance.

Water levels in Ghaggar river at 8:00 am has crossed 70,000 cusecs.

Due to increase in the rain in the catchment area of river Ghaggar, and opening of Sukhna gates villages on the embankments of Teh Derabassi subdivision are advised to stay alert.

CNG Vehicles Planned for Local Routes
Centre’s Nod Awaited for 100 Electric Buses

Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) has decided to retire 85 diesel buses by November as they have completed their operational lifespan. These buses, introduced during the 2010 Commonwealth Games, are no longer fit for roads. To keep services running, CTU plans to hire CNG buses as a replacement. Meanwhile, the city is waiting for the Centre’s approval to procure 100 new electric buses. Officials said this shift will improve air quality and reduce pollution in the city

Hundreds of Villages Submerged, 6,600 Rescued in Relief Ops

Over 830 villages across Punjab including Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Amritsar, Pathankot, Ferozepur, Fazilka & Hoshiarpur have been impacted by heavy floods.
