Pixel Launcher bug reopens the app you just closed when trying to launch another.

A peculiar glitch in Google Pixel Launcher is drawing increasing attention, with users reporting that closing an app and immediately tapping another on the home screen sometimes results in the previously closed app reopening instead.

The issue recently gained fresh traction after a post on the r/Pixel_Phones subreddit garnered hundreds of upvotes and comments within 24 hours. Most commenters echoed the original poster’s experience, describing a scenario where attempting to switch apps from the Pixel Launcher home screen results in the wrong app launching, specifically the one that was just closed.

In a shared screen recording, the OP demonstrates the bug in action.

Tired of the old Twitter look? You can now toggle to the 'New X Android' experience.

X is rolling out a neat way to test its refreshed Android interface without forcing users to jump ship completely to the X-Lite app. The platform’s gradually giving users access to a toggle that lets them switch between the old and new X Android experience right from within the existing app.

The feature shows up as “New X Android” in your profile menu, marked with a beta tag. When you tap it, you’re greeted with a prompt explaining that this is a revamped version built for better performance. What makes this approach particularly user-friendly is the promise that you can switch back anytime through the menu, though X notes you might need to reinstall the app in rare cases.

Firefox does an Apple as sharing links to WhatsApp now appends "Sent from Firefox" text.

Firefox mobile users started noticing something peculiar this week when sharing links to WhatsApp. After hitting that share button, their messages were getting an unexpected tagline: “Sent from Firefox 🦊” with a direct link to the Mozilla app store listing.

Sound familiar? That’s because it borrows from the same playbook Apple used for years with their “Sent from my iPhone” email signatures. The move has some users feeling less than thrilled, with many among them calling out Mozilla for turning their personal messages into what they see as unpaid advertisements.

If you’d rather keep your shared links signature-free, Mozilla did include a toggle.

Firefox mobile quietly added iPhone-style "Sent from Firefox" signatures to WhatsApp shares, but there's a way to disable it.

X launches “Manipulated media” labels, while eyebrows raise as Edward Snowden's account shows no location.

X just rolled out this new thing where they tag posts with a “Manipulated media” label if the videos or images in them look doctored and meant to fool people. Folks are talking about it a lot because it’s part of a bunch of changes happening on the platform.

On the flip side, Edward Snowden’s profile is turning heads because it doesn’t show any location at all. I explored a bit, and found that even PewDiePie’s page is the same way.

While all this is going on, X added a quick way to sort your Following timeline by Most Recent or Popular.

X is rolling out a new Manipulated media tag to combat misinformation. Meanwhile, the missing location of Snowden's account is fueling conspiracy theories.

Reddit app glitch reportedly resetting online status, NSFW preference, and theme settings on Android.

Reddit’s Android app is giving users quite the headache right now. A growing chorus of complaints across multiple subreddits points to a frustrating bug that’s wiping out user preferences every time the app gets closed and reopened.

The issue seems pretty widespread at this point. Users are reporting that their online status keeps flipping back on despite repeatedly turning it off.

But it gets worse. Multiple users are also complaining about the “show mature content” toggle automatically disabling itself, which is particularly annoying for anyone who’s already age-verified and doesn’t want to keep re-enabling NSFW content.

Character AI age verification rollout currently restricted to US.

Character AI’s new age verification system has started appearing for some users, but there’s a catch that many international users are discovering: the feature is only available in the United States right now. If you’re outside the US and wondering why you haven’t seen any verification prompts, that’s exactly why.

The company confirmed in a recent support document that users outside America won’t encounter the age assurance pop-up at all. For now, only US-based accounts are being asked to go through the verification process, which uses a third-party service called Persona.

YouTube missing 'Subcriptions' tab on desktop? Here's where to access it.

If you’ve recently opened YouTube on your desktop and felt a moment of panic seeing that the Subscriptions tab appears to have vanished from its usual spot at the top of the page, you’re not alone. Multiple users on Reddit and X are reporting that YouTube seems to have removed the Subscriptions button, leaving many wondering how to access their feed of subscribed channels.

The good news? Your Subscriptions page hasn’t actually been removed. YouTube has simply made a confusing UI change that’s causing users to think the feature disappeared entirely.

Microsoft confirms Copilot leaving WhatsApp on January 15.

Microsoft has officially announced that Copilot will stop working on WhatsApp after January 15, 2026. The tech giant confirmed the news in a blog post published just hours ago, citing recent changes to WhatsApp’s platform policies that ban all large language model chatbots from the messaging app.

Google gives up on fixing Pixel telephoto camera video stutter bug.

For months, Pixel users have been dissecting a strange but repeatable flaw that undermines one of Google’s biggest selling points: video stabilization. What began as a curious stutter when panning on the Pixel 10 Pro’s 5x telephoto lens has now escalated into a full-blown saga. And the latest update suggests Google may have quietly walked away from fixing it altogether.

Roblox players reporting “Security Threat Detected” error that crashes the game on Android devices.

Android users are finding themselves abruptly kicked out of Roblox matches with a frustrating error message that’s leaving many confused.

A Samsung S24 Ultra user on Reddit described how a pop-up reading “REF: ###x Security Threat Detected” started appearing out of nowhere, followed by an immediate app crash just a minute or two into gameplay. What makes this particularly puzzling is that the user hadn’t changed anything on their device beforehand.

The problem appears widespread across different Android brands and models. Players using Samsung devices like the S24 Ultra, S23 Ultra, and Galaxy A52 are affected, but so are those with Lenovo tablets, Xiaomi phones, Huawei devices, Amazon Fire tablets, and even Google Pixel phones.
