The ๐†๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ˆ๐ง๐๐ข๐š has appointed Kapil Meena, IAS (Sikkim cadre, 2010 batch) as the Managing Director of the National Horticulture Board (NHB), functioning under the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.

He will hold the position for a tenure extending up to ๐‰๐š๐ง๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ 17, 2027, or until further directives are issued. He takes over the role following B. Srinivas, while a prior appointment order naming Satyendra Singh has been withdrawn.

Earlier in February 2026, Meena was empanelled for appointment at the ๐‰๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ญ ๐’๐ž๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ at the Centre. Prior to this assignment, he was serving as ๐ƒ๐ข๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‚๐จ๐จ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, where he was actively involved in national-level coordination initiatives, having earlier worked as Deputy Secretary in the same ministry.

An agriculture graduate from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, he combines strong academic credentials with extensive administrative experience.
