𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫, 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐬 𝐒𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐲—𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧
One week. That’s all we have before Ramadhan knocks on our doors. But look around—are your children preparing for it, or are they lost in the world of screens, distractions, and careless routines? Mothers, you are their first teacher, their first role model. Yet, instead of holding their little hands and guiding them to the prayer mat, we hand them gadgets and let them be entertained. Instead of making their tongues familiar with *SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, and Allahu Akbar, * we let them memorize meaningless songs and trends. And when they grow distant from Salah, from the Quran, from Allah—we blame their father, the school, or society. But who spent the most time with them? Who shaped their habits?
Your sons should be in the masjid, standing among men, learning humility before Allah. Your daughters should be by your side, watching you recite Quran, observing how a woman of faith carries herself—with haya, with dignity, with purpose. But instead, they watch you scroll endlessly, consuming “A Day in My Life” videos while their own life drifts away from the Deen.
Mother, this is your chance. Cancel the outings, silence the distractions. Show them how to love Ramadhan by living it yourself. Wake them for Fajr, remind them of dhikr, place the Quran in their hands instead of letting it collect dust. Be firm—don’t just ask them to pray, make them pray. Don’t just tell them about modesty, show them what haya looks like.
Ramadhan isn’t just about you. It’s about the legacy you leave behind. And if you don’t plant these seeds now, don’t be surprised when your children grow up without roots in their Deen. Start today, before another Ramadhan passes you by—before another Ramadhan passes them by.
