๐Ÿธ DOUBLES | REAR โ†’ NET BASICS

Moving from the rear court to the net is one of the most important transitions in doubles. Master these basic strokes and movements ๐Ÿ‘‡

โœ… 1. Rear-Court Attack
Smash / steep drop to create pressure.

โœ… 2. Follow-Up Move
After the stroke, move forward quickly instead of staying in the rear court.

โœ… 3. Mid-Court Interception
Be ready for the opponentโ€™s drive or block.

โœ… 4. Net Kill
If the shuttle is loose, step in and finish the rally.

โœ… 5. Net Shot
Use control and accuracy to force a weak lift.

โœ… 6. Rotation
Rear-court player moves forward as the front player adjusts accordingly.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Key Focus:
Hit โ†’ Recover โ†’ Move Forward โ†’ Intercept โ†’ Finish

Train these strokes repeatedly until the rear-to-net transition becomes automatic.

๐ŸŽฏ Save this for your next doubles training session!

๐Ÿธ Serve Cross Away โ€” Badminton Doubles Variation ๐Ÿšจ

Most players expect a straight low serve.
Thatโ€™s why the cross-away serve becomes dangerous when used at the right time.

โœ… What is a Cross Away Serve?

Instead of serving straight, you angle the shuttle diagonally away from the receiver โ€” forcing them to move sideways and reach late.

It creates:

* Weak returns
* Confusion in fast doubles rallies
* More attacking chances for your side

๐Ÿ”ฅ Step-by-Step Technique

1. Same Preparation

Keep your setup identical to your normal low serve.
Donโ€™t show the direction early.

2. Relaxed Grip

Use a soft finger grip for better control and deception.

3. Slice the Shuttle Slightly

At contact, guide the shuttle diagonally with a small wrist/finger adjustment.
No big swing needed.

4. Keep it Low

The shuttle should barely cross the tape.
If it goes high = easy kill for opponent.

5. Aim Wide

Target the front side corner near the doubles service line.

โš ๏ธ Common Mistakes

โŒ Too much wrist โ†’ serve goes out
โŒ Serving high โ†’ opponent attacks instantly
โŒ Using it every time โ†’ becomes predictable

๐ŸŽฏ Best Time to Use It

* Against aggressive receivers
* When opponent stands too forward
* After few straight serves to surprise them

๐Ÿ† Pro Tip

The power of this serve is not speed โ€” itโ€™s deception.
Make your normal serve and cross serve look exactly the same until the last second.

๐Ÿธ Badminton Training Series #2 โ€“ Doubles Mid-Court Rotation

โšก Most doubles rallies are won or lost in the mid-court. Good rotation keeps the attack alive, improves court coverage, and prevents confusion between partners.

๐Ÿ“Œ Step 1: Start in Attack

โ–ถ๏ธ Begin with the classic attacking formation:
๐Ÿ”น One player at the front.
๐Ÿ”น One player at the rear.
๐Ÿงโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿธ Stay balanced with your racket up and be ready to move.

๐Ÿ“Œ Step 2: Mid-Court Interception

๐ŸŽฏ The feeder plays the shuttle into the mid-court.
๐Ÿš€ Move quickly to intercept the shuttle in front of your body whenever possible instead of waiting for it to drop.

๐Ÿ“Œ Step 3: Recover Immediately

โš ๏ธ Donโ€™t admire your shot!
๐Ÿƒ Recover as soon as you hit the shuttle and rotate according to the next expected reply.

๐Ÿ“Œ Step 4: Partner Rotation

๐Ÿค Your partner should read your movement and adjust at the same time.
๐Ÿ”„ Rotate smoothly to maintain front-back coverage and avoid leaving open spaces.

๐Ÿ“Œ Step 5: Continue the Rally

๐Ÿ”ฅ Keep the rally going while maintaining:
โœ… Correct spacing
โœ… Continuous communication
โœ… Fast recovery
โœ… Balanced positioning
โœ… Proper shot selection

๐ŸŽฏ Key Coaching Points

๐Ÿ‘ฃ Stay on the balls of your feet.
โšก Perform a split step before every opponentโ€™s shot.
๐Ÿธ Keep your racket up for quicker interceptions.
๐Ÿ”„ Rotate immediately after every shot.
๐Ÿšซ Avoid both players moving to the same shuttle.
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Communicate early and clearly.
๐Ÿ’ช Prioritize consistency before increasing the speed.

๐Ÿ“ˆ This drill improves:
โœ… Mid-court control
โœ… Rotation timing
โœ… Court awareness
โœ… Recovery speed
โœ… Partner coordination
โœ… Match confidence

โšก 3 DRILLS TO IMPROVE YOUR ON-COURT SPEED ๐Ÿธ

Speed in badminton isnโ€™t just about moving your feet faster โ€” itโ€™s about efficient positioning, braking, stability and recovery.

1๏ธโƒฃ Wide Stance + Squats
Start with a wide athletic stance and perform controlled squats.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Builds lower-body strength
๐Ÿ‘‰ Improves base stability
๐Ÿ‘‰ Helps you push explosively in multiple directions

2๏ธโƒฃ Front Movement โ€” Heel First | Rear Movement โ€” Toe First
When moving towards the front court, focus on heel-first contact to control your approach.
When moving backwards, use the toe/forefoot to stay light and generate quick movement.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Improves movement efficiency
๐Ÿ‘‰ Helps with acceleration & deceleration
๐Ÿ‘‰ Keeps you ready for the next shot

3๏ธโƒฃ Lunge + Recovery + Core Stabilisation
Perform a strong lunge, maintain balance, then recover quickly back to your base while keeping your core stable.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Better braking control
๐Ÿ‘‰ Faster recovery after the shot
๐Ÿ‘‰ Improves balance and movement quality

๐Ÿ”ฅ Remember: Fast players donโ€™t just move quickly โ€” they move efficiently and recover quickly.

Save this reel and add these drills to your badminton training routine! ๐Ÿธโšก

๐Ÿธ DOUBLES FLICK SERVE โ€” STEP BY STEP

Most players stand too close expecting a short serveโ€ฆ
Thatโ€™s why a good flick serve can win FREE points โšก

โœ… Step 1: Positioning
โ€ข Same setup as your normal short serve
โ€ข Relax your grip & stay balanced
โ€ข Donโ€™t show the flick early ๐Ÿ‘€

โœ… Step 2: Strike
โ€ข Small quick finger power
โ€ข Hit the shuttle slightly under & behind
โ€ข Smooth acceleration โ€” no big swing โŒ

โœ… Step 3: Where to Serve
โ€ข Aim deep to backhand rear court
โ€ข Use it when opponent rushes forward too early
โ€ข Mix with short serves to stay unpredictable ๐ŸŽฏ

A GOOD flick serve is not about powerโ€ฆ
Itโ€™s about deception ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿธ

SAVE this before your next doubles game ๐Ÿ”ฅ
