🌀 UAC/System Aided Thunderstorms are back for the 1st time this SWM season 😍 :

🙌 It's been a productive SWM 2025 so far over Entire TN (Incl. KTCC belt) Chennai city got few Good spells since June and same time, We experiencing Fairly Hot temperatures around 38/39C consistently this month.

🌡So, The Hot Days most likely to take break from today or max tomorrow over KTCC belt and could expect Super show of Widespread Rains for next one week!!

🔶️ ️North BOB cooking an UAC which likely to develop tomorrow or friday and would create massive instability over NTN - SAP interiors. Once It intensifies further, It'll create Massive NW convergence (Refer pic 1) and produce Widespread Heavy Rains and Thunderstorms.

》》 belt, , , , , and are the Hotspots for Widespread Rains with few places might recieve Heavy to Very Heavy Rains. Other and districts too would get Good Rains. SWM will get active again once the system turns into LPA.

♦️ For - belt, Next 2 days looks good for Rains but steering might be slow as it'll be in transition. From Friday (July 18) to subsequent 2-3 days looks Fantastic for Chennai city and suburbs to get Widespread Heavy Rains!! 🥳 Exciting days ahead and hope for a Superb one week event.

☔️ Quite Strong Easterly Wave assoicated with CC approching TN tomorrow. Mostly an 24-36 hrs event. A Rare March Rainy event!! 😍

🚨 A South TN centric event.. Especially Tuticorin, Tenkasi, Ramnad, Tirunelveli and Kumari districts could expect Heavy to Very Heavy Rains Tomorrow! Expecting Huge numbers over TN Western Ghats.

♦️Delta regions too could expect Good Widespread Rains followed by Pondy, Cuddalore, Villupuram and it's adjoining interiors with Decent Rains. Chennai - KTC belt might fetch few Light - Moderate spells tomorrow morning - Noon (1 day).

🔶 ️Rains will start from Tomorrow Early morning and might withdraw completely over TN around Wednesday morning (Except Western Ghat regions).

☔️ Rains stepped into TN after a long time!😍 Few parts of Southern districts getting Rains since morning due to Fresh Easterly wave. It's likely to get more streamlined in next 2 days and could expect Widespread Rains from Feb 28 - Mar 2 over Delta and STN districts.

🔶 ️Ramnad, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi and Kumari districts are well placed for Heavy Rains. Entire STN, Delta regions and Parts of Western districts will get Good Widespread Rains.

♦️North Coastals like Pondy, Cuddalore, Villupuram and adjoining districts could expect Decent Moderate Rains on 27th & 28th Feb. Nothing much for Chennai - KTC belt, Expecting some Sharp spells around 28th Feb.

☔️ Fresh Easterlies to bring Fairly Widespread Rains over TN and Puducherry from Tomorrow! 😍 First, Delta regions might get Rains from Tomorrow evening followed by North Coastal districts from Tomorrow night/Sunday early morning.

♦️ Chennai - KTC belt could expect Light - Moderate Rains on Tomorrow night and Sunday (19th Jan) and Rains will ease off completely on Monday. TN Interior districts would get Decent Rains on Sunday. Delta and STN districts having better chances and also expecting Good quantum of Rains from this event. Farmers plan it accordingly!!..

☔️ A Super NEM performance over entire TN and Puducherry! 😍😇 Though NEM statistically comes to end on 31st Dec 2024, We would see few more Spells this month too. Thus, Monsoon not over yet! Again TN coast (Incl KTCC belt) might get Rains from 9th/10th Jan 2025 and these are considered as winter Rainfall.

♦️ Chennai, Nagai, Pondy and Karaikal districts crossed 1000+ mm for the NEM 2024 season. Chennai City (Nungabakkam) got 1084 mm and Meenabakkam 1024 mm which marks the 5th consecutive "Above normal/Excess category" for Chennai since 2020.

🔶 ️Chennai - KTC belt living in dream phase of NEM!! All the TN districts got Normal/Above Normal Rains barring Tuticorin which is slightly below normal but still considered in Normal category. (Refer Pic 3 for Rainfall summary - credits IMD)

✍️ Let's evaluate our NEM outlook 2024 predictions which released on Oct 1st week: (Refer Pic 4)

✅️ Expected 1 or 2 strong systems - One Strong system wrecked havoc over North TN districts - Cyclone Fengal
✅️ We got Good Rains in Oct 3rd week and NEM got Super active after Nov 2nd half.
✅️ All the North Coastal districts got Normal to Above Normal Rainfall
✅️ Barring Tuticorin, Other STN districts got Normal/Above Normal Rainfall
✔️ All Interior districts got Normal Rains even Western districts which were predicted slightly below normal. Thus, Partially went right.

☔️ Fresh Easterlies arrived over TN coast. Pondy - Tuticorin stretch (incl Delta), Tirunelveli and Kumari districts will get Good Rains for next 3-4 days. Few places especially close to coast and ghat regions would expect Heavy Rains.

♦️ Chennai - KTC belt could fetch Some Scattered Rains from Tonight to next 2 days, Nothing major, Will be Light to Moderate spells especially at Night to Morning hours.

☔️ Chennai - KTC belt would get Rains Tomorrow and 27th Dec Friday especially at Midnight to Morning hours. Drizzles-Light shower likely to prevail today. These would be Enjoyabale Light to Moderate spells from remnants of system 91B.

♦️ Fresh Easterlies to arrive within next 3-4 days. Once again KTCC belt might get Some Rains around 29th-31st December. Other TN Coastal districts too will join on that period.

☔️ Decent Widespread Rains yesterday in Chennai city and suburbs. Really a Good infact Lucky system as we got 4-5 cms Widespread Rains on average. It doesn't Disappoint us considering the unfavorable conditions and even Light Rains was in doubt at certain period of time.

♦️ Chennai City (Nungabakkam) crosses 1000 mm for the NEM Season 2024 yet another time 😍🥳 It's the 4th time in last 5 years (Only 2022 missed with 960 mm) and the Dream Run of Above normal/Excess NEM continues for Chennai since 2020!! 💥

🌧 Coming to Forecast, Nothing much interesting in upcoming days. Chennai City and suburbs might get Some Scattered spells tomorrow in typical SWM style (West - NW winds). Dry weather with chill/foggy conditions will take in effect for few days.

☔️ Perfect Monsoon day for Chennai City and suburbs!! 😍😇 Light showers since morning and currently picked up pace turned to Moderate Rains.

♦️ Rains will continue steadier and could be fairly Intense at times. Meanwhile for Heavy Rains, It depends on convergence and system also system should move slightly west. So, Real-time monitoring will be best from now. By keeping expectations low, Let's see how it pans out 🙌

🌀 A Short Update of System 91B : After Fengal and 90B which gave Bountiful Rains for both KTCC belt and Other TN districts, Another Fresh LPA formed over South Bay of Bengal today as expected earlier. This system might get influenced by WD (Western Disturbance).

🌧 The Track is clear, Initial west direction and a curvy NW movement which might graze KTCC belt and SAP Coasts. As of now, Only KTCC belt looks quite placed well and Somewhat Villupuram, pondy, cuddalore and Nagai districts having fair Rain chances from this system.

♦️ Remember, "More close to us, The more will be the Rains" and also the Convection should be strong in West and WNW quadrant of the system. So the Conclusion - "Some Spells assured for KTCC belt but for Heavy - Very Heavy Rains it's completely depends on the movement and West - WNW quadrant convection.

☔️ An Unbelievable Outrageous Day for TamilNadu!! 😍💥 Atleast a place got Heavy Rains in most of the districts. Easily the Best Day of the season for TN in terms of Widespread Heavy Rains. Whenever system stays at GOM and Comorin sea it produces absolute magic for entire TN.

🌧 KTCC belt, Vellore, Ranipet, Villupuram, Pondy, Cuddalore, Ariyalur,Perambur, Mayiladhudurai, Trichy, Dindugul, Madurai, Theni, Pudukkottai, sivagangai, Virudhunagar, Ramnad, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts got Widespread Heavy Rains. Some places over Cuddalore, Mayiladhudurai, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Tenkasi districts recorded Very Heavy to Extreme Heavy Rains.

🔶️ For KTCC belt, It's been a Wonderful system as most parts of Chennai city got 150-175 mm in 2 days even few places got 200 mm. More Importantly the lake areas got Very Heavy Rains. Poondi & Chemba lakes almost got filled and currently outflow process going on.

♦️ Avadi pounded with 215 mm followed by Tiruthani 170 mm, Sriperumbedur 166 mm, Poonamallee 143 mm, Chembarabakkam 141 mm, Kundrathur 137 mm, Tiruvallur 125 mm and Maduranthagam 123 mm. For Chennai city, Southern parts got Heavy Rains with Top scorer Meenabakkam 107 mm.

☢️ Tirunelveli Hills Rainfall :

Oothu - 540 mm
Kakkachi - 340 mm
Manjolai - 320 mm
Nalumukku - 310 mm

☢️ Top 10 Highest Rainfall places in TN (Excluding hills) :

Ambasamuthiram (Tirunelveli) - 366 mm
Kovilpatti (Thoothukudi) - 365 mm
Kannadian anaicut (Tirunelveli) - 351 mm
Ayikudi (Tenkasi) - 312 mm
Lalpet (Cuddalore) - 310 mm
Manimutharu (Tirunelveli) - 298 mm
Palayamkottai (Tirunelveli) - 261 mm
Srimushnam (Cuddalore) - 241 mm
Shenkottai (Tenkasi) - 240 mm
Kattumannarkoil (Cuddalore) - 237 mm

That's it from Memorable system 90B LPA. Now let's move on to 91B - Fresh system. Will Update about it soon.
