The festive celebrations at Annai Velankanni Shrine, Besant Nagar, officially began today with the Flag Hoisting Ceremony, marking the start of days filled with faith, prayer and devotion.

🙏 Devotees gathered in large numbers to witness the flag hoisting and seek blessings as the shrine prepares for its grand annual festivities.

**A Rakhi for the Hands That Protect Us. 🇮🇳**

For **V.S. Ganesan and Revathi Ganesan**, Raksha Bandhan is a promise of gratitude.

Since 1998, the Chennai couple has been making Rakhis by hand and sending them to soldiers serving in some of the toughest corners of the country.

From **Jammu & Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh and Leh-Ladakh**, these Rakhis carry more than a sacred thread — they carry the prayers and love of people back home.

This year, nearly **6,000 Rakhis** have already been prepared and dispatched.
