Vikatan Tele Vistas, established 13 years ago, had a humble beginning with one weekly half an hour serial 'Akshaya' (1998) in Tamil. Today the company is proud to be among the largest and most profitable fiction houses in the country, across Indian languages. It has produced blockbusters like 'Kolangal' (2003-2009, 1533 episodes which is being remade in Kannada, Bengali and Hindi), 'Thendral' (2009 onwards, Tamil, about 500 episodes and running, being remade in Telugu and Malayalam) and has recently launched a late night show 'Azhagi' on Sun TV, totaling about 4000 hours of original content under its belt and adding 27.5 hours a week from 11 shows, broadcasting everyday on 6 channels including Star Plus and Zee TV, including licensing and co-production arrangements.
