Tamil Nadu emerges as a trailblazer, boasting the highest number of women councillors in India, as revealed by a Janaagraha report. With nearly 46% of the nation’s councillors being women, the state sets an inspiring example for gender representation in politics.

Across India, 17 states have implemented a 50% women’s quota, empowering women to take on pivotal roles in urban local bodies. Notably, cities like Patna and Bhubaneswar are shining examples, with over 60% of their councillors being women.

Kanchan Ugursandi, aka The Biker Girl, has made history as the first motorcyclist to conquer the majestic Lipulekh Pass at a breathtaking altitude of 17,500 feet! Her epic journey from Delhi to the India-China border wasn’t just about adventure—it was a story of grit, perseverance, and unshakable determination.

Traversing through Uttarakhand’s rugged terrains and battling landslides near Dharchula, Kanchan finally triumphed on her third attempt, proving that dreams are worth the struggle. A crucial gateway on the Kailash Mansarovar route, connecting India, China, and Nepal, it holds immense religious and strategic value.

Kanchan has also appealed to PM for a Kailash Mansarovar Corridor, envisioning better access for Hindu pilgrims to Mount Kailash.

“This journey isn’t just for me; it’s for adventurers, dreamers, and the rich cultural tapestry of India.”

Her ride is a tribute to India’s landscapes, culture, and the unyielding human spirit. Cheers to Kanchan for inspiring us all to keep climbing our mountains—literally and figuratively!

On November 25, Gisèle Pelicot, 72 graced the cover of Vogue on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women—a bold declaration of survival and strength.

For nearly a decade, Gisèle endured unimaginable abuse at the hands of her husband, Dominique Pelicot, who drugged, r***d, and trafficked her to other men. The truth surfaced in 2020 when Dominique was arrested, revealing the extent of the horrors through videos and evidence.

But Gisèle chose to fight back publicly, refusing to let shame define her. Her powerful message, “Shame must change sides,” has become a rallying cry for survivors worldwide.

Her Vogue cover is a symbol of reclaiming power and redefining the narrative of survivors as fighters—not victims.
