It took nearly 16 years for a mass hero’s character arc to finally speak up and accept the reality of today.
Sixteen years for cinema to say out loud what society kept pushing aside.
Yet even now, women are still told “dress properly”.
Women are still warned “don’t provoke men”.
Men have changed with time.
Their freedom has grown.
Their voices are heard.
But women?
Women are still expected to carry rules that were written for someone else’s lack of control.
A woman’s existence is not an invitation.
A woman’s clothing is not a justification.
And a man’s actions are his responsibility alone.
The change cannot come from asking women to adjust, to restrict, or to stay silent.
The change has to begin at the root,
Men must learn how to behave towards women, instead of expecting women to adapt to men’s behaviour.
Until that happens, women will continue to face these realities.
And until then, society must keep questioning itself.
Still hoping for change in the future,
But hoping alone is not enough.
