ನಾವು ನೀವೆಲ್ಲಾ ವಿದೇಶದ ಯಾವುದೋ‌ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರದೇಶವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ರೋಮಾಂಚನಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅಂತಹ ಪ್ರದೇಶವೊಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಮೈನೆರೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಆ ಜಾಗವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಅಯ್ಯೋ,! ಇದು ನಮ್ಮ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದೆಯಾ ಅಂತಾ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯ ಪಡಬಹುದು.
ನಮ್ಮ ಮಲೆನಾಡ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ಸೊಬಗು ಯಾವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಇಲ್ಲಾ, ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಮೂಡಿಗೆರೆ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನ ಕಳಸ ಬಳಿಯ ಸಂಸೆ ಸಮೀಪದ ಬಾಮಿಕೊಂಡ ಎಂಬ ಚಿಕ್ಕಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಅತ್ಯದ್ಬುತ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ ಸೊಬಗೊಂದು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಕಣ್ಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕೆಸರಿನ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಹಚ್ಚ ಹಸಿರಿನ ಹೃದಯಾಕಾರದ ಹಸಿರು ರಾಶಿ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಅನೇಕ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಎಂಬ ರೈತ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಈ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸುತ್ತ ಕೃಷಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಯಾವುದೇ ಯಂತ್ರೋಪಕರಣಗಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಗದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ದ ಮಾಡಿ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿರುವುದು ಅದ್ಬುತವೇ ಸರಿ.

ಯಾವುದೋ ದೇಶದ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕೆಸರು ಗದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿ ವ್ಹಾವ್! ಎಂತಹ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ಅಂತಾ ಕಣ್ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ ಈ ಸಂಸೆ ಎಂಬ ಅದ್ಬುತ ಫಾರಿನ್, ಈವೆರಗೂ ಯಾರ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೂ ಬಿದ್ದಿಲ್ಲ. ರೈತನು ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸುತ್ತಾ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲುಗಳ ರೀತಿ ಭತ್ತದ ಗದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ, ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಸುತ್ತಲಿನ ಎತ್ತರದ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗುಡ್ಡಗಳು ತಂಪಾದ ಗಾಳಿ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಜೀವಕಳೆ ತುಂಬಿದೆ.

ಸುಮಾರು ನಾಲ್ಕು ಎಕರೆ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಗದ್ದೆಯನ್ನು ಉಳುಮೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಉಳುಮೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಭತ್ತ ನಾಟಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಿದ್ದತೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸುತ್ತಲು ಉಳುಮೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲ್ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಹೃದಯಾಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಸಿರು ಹುಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಬಿಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ಗದ್ದೆಯ ಕೆಸರಿನ ನಡುವೆ ಹಚ್ಚಹಸಿರಿನಿಂದ ಕಂಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಹಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಹಾಳಿಗೆ ಬದುವಿನ ಮೇಲಿಂದ ನೀರು ಸುರಿಯುವ ದೃಶ್ಯ ಸಣ್ಣ ಸಣ್ಣ ಜಲಪಾತಗಳಂತೆ ಗೋಚರಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.

ಮೂಡಿಗೆರೆ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕು ಕಳಸಾದಿಂದ ಕುದುರೆಮುಖ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗಿದರೆ ಈ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಭತ್ತದ ಗದ್ದೆಯ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ಸವಿಯಲು ಸುಮಾರು 4 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಹಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕು. ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಈ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಐದಾರು ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ವಾಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ನಗರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಮಾಡಲು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಾಲು ನಡಿಗೆಯೇ ಆಧಾರವಾಗಿದೆ.

Hebbe Falls is one of the most popular waterfalls in Chikmagalur district. Hebbe Falls is 168 meters in height and ensures mystical experience to everyone who takes effort to reach the falls.

Highlights of Hebbe Waterfall:

Twin Stage Fall: River Bhadra drops in two stages at Hebbe waterfall. The two parts of the fall are referred to as Dodda Hebbe (bigger Hebbe) and Chikka Hebbe (smaller Hebbe). Additional hiking is required to reach upper portion of the Falls.
Pool: A small pool formed by the falls at its base is ideal for a dip and short swim.

ದೇವೀರಮ್ಮನ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ವಿಶೇಷತೆ ಏನು ಗೊತ್ತಾ?

ಮಹಿಷಾಸುರ ಸಂಹಾರದ ನಂತರ ಮನಃಶಾಂತಿಗಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಅರಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ದೇವಿಗೆ ಕಾಣಿಸಿದ್ದು ಚಂದ್ರದ್ರೋಣ ಪರ್ವತ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಈ ಬೆಟ್ಟ. ಮುಂದೆ ಇದೇ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವೀರಮ್ಮನಾಗಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಹರಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವವಳು ತಾಯಿ ಚಾಮುಂಡೇಶ್ವರಿ. ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೊಮ್ಮೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಈ ತಾಯಿಯು ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ.

ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿರುವಂತಹ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳಿಗೂ ತನ್ನದೇ ಆದ ಪೌರಾಣಿಕ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಪೌರಾಣಿಕ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ದೇವಾಲಯವೊಂದು ಕಾಫಿ ನಾಡು ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ವಿಶೇಷತೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಬಾಗಿಲು ತೆರುವುದು ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೊಮ್ಮೆ ಮಾತ್ರ. ಅದೂ ಕೂಡಾ ದೀಪಾವಳಿಯಂದು ಮಾತ್ರ.

ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ ತಪ್ಪಲಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರು ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಮಲ್ಲೇನಹಳ್ಳಿ ಸಮೀಪದ ಬಿಂಡಿಗ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಚಂದ್ರದ್ರೋಣ ಪರ್ವತ ಶ್ರೇಣಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ 3 ಸಾವಿರ ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರದ ಬೆಟ್ಟವೇ ದೇವೀರಮ್ಮ ಬೆಟ್ಟ. ಈ ದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಂಡಿಗ ದೇವೀರಮ್ಮ ಎಂತಲೂ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ದೂರದೂರಿನಿಂದ, ಹೊರ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಭಕ್ತರು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಆಗಮಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ದೇವಿರಮ್ಮ ಬೆಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶವಿರುವುದು ಮಾತ್ರ ನರಕ ಚತುರ್ದಶಿಯಂದು. ತಮ್ಮ ಇಷ್ಟಾರ್ಥ ಸಿದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ವಿವಿಧೆಡೆಗಳಿಂದ ಜನರು ಆಗಮಿಸಿ ದೇವೀರಮ್ಮನ ದರ್ಶನ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.
