‘Green House’ in Nepal Floods! Only a Green House Remained Standing Strong Despite Surrounding Buildings Being Washed Away

The recent floods and landslides in Nepal have caused severe damage in many areas. Although surrounding buildings, roads and other structures were washed away by the floodwaters, a green house has now gone viral on social media.

Although the surrounding area was completely submerged in floodwaters, the fact that this house was the only one left standing is a surprise to many. Therefore, this house is being called the ‘Miracle House’ on social media.

“God saved us,” says the house owner

The owner of the house recalled the horrific moments of the flood while speaking to the media. She said that the entire family was trapped on the top floor of the house during the flood.

“During that terrible time, we were chanting the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivaya’. We were also constantly reciting Hanuman Chalisa. It was God who saved us,” he shared his devotion.

The sight of the house remaining safe despite the heavy damage around it has now caught the attention of many. While some see this as the result of the strong construction of the house, only the owner of the house believes that it is the grace of God and the power of prayers.

The sight of the green house standing alone amidst the horror of the flood is one of the surprising incidents in Nepal.

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar had recently said that only the first two stanzas of the song ‘Vande Mataram’ will be sung at government and public functions in Karnataka. He had said that his government is committed to the stand of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) resolution of 1937.

BJP leader B. Sriramulu has opposed this statement and has challenged D.K. Shivakumar.

“It was not the Congress government that brought independence to this country, if so, sing the full version of the song Vande Mataram once, then we will accept it,” Sriramulu challenged.

The government’s stance on singing the full version of the song Vande Mataram and the opposition of BJP leaders have now led to a political debate. The dispute between Congress and BJP leaders on this issue related to national sentiment is likely to intensify further.

The Chief Minister, who visited the lands of Kadampur village along with officials, observed the condition of sunflower and corn crops drying up without rain. Jal Jeevan Mission: There is a tap system, but only water is not coming!

Under the government's Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, tap connections and water supply systems were built many years ago with the aim of providing tap water to houses in rural areas. But even though the system has been built in some villages, there are allegations that water is still not coming through the taps properly.

Why is water still not coming through the taps?
Although tap connections have been installed in many villages, villagers are expressing dissatisfaction that water is not being supplied due to problems with the water source, pipeline, pump system or maintenance. Even though the work under the scheme has been completed, if its real benefits do not reach the people, the very purpose of the scheme will fail.

Even if the road is damaged, the water problem is not solved!

There are also complaints that cement roads in villages and streets have been dug up and damaged during the installation of tap water pipes. Since the roads are not repaired, the public is also facing problems in traffic. But despite all this work, the rural people are not getting the drinking water they need.

Question from the rural people
“There is a tap, there is a pipe, but where is the water?” The villagers are asking the question. In some places, people are expressing dissatisfaction that they have not seen a single drop of water even after the system was built under the project.

Public appeal to the government
The government should inspect all the water supply systems built under the Jal Jeevan Mission project and resolve the technical issues quickly. In addition to providing tap connections to the houses, steps should be taken to ensure continuous and adequate water supply.

The public has appealed to the government to immediately pay attention to the drinking water problem, which is the basic need of the rural people, and to deliver the real benefits of the project to the people.

Elon Musk's technology assistance to flood victims: Starlink helps in rescue work

Major floods and landslides in Nepal have disrupted life in many areas. Major infrastructure including roads and bridges have been damaged, and mobile network systems have also been disrupted in some places. This has made it challenging to connect with the victims and conduct rescue operations.

In such an emergency, Elon Musk's Starlink technology can come to the rescue. It has been reported that Starlink is ready to provide free high-speed internet service to help victims in areas where communication systems have been damaged by floods and landslides.

Since it is possible to connect through satellite-based internet even when the traditional mobile network system is not working, it can be helpful for rescue teams to connect with the victims, get information about their location, and deliver emergency assistance.

Such technologies are likely to serve as an important communication tool for rescue operations until communication systems are restored in flood-affected areas. This is an example of how technology can help save human lives in times of crisis.

Nepal floods: Entry ban for foreign rescue teams

In the wake of the massive floods and landslides in Nepal, the Nepal government has reportedly temporarily banned the direct entry of foreign rescue teams.

While India has offered to provide NDRF personnel and helicopter teams to assist in disaster management and rescue operations, the Nepal government has reportedly not accepted the proposal to deploy foreign rescue teams inside the country for now.

This decision is not limited to India alone. Reports have said that any foreign rescue teams, including those from China, the US, and the UK, have been barred from entering Nepal directly.

However, the path to receiving humanitarian aid, relief materials, and other assistance that Nepal needs has not been completely closed. In the current situation, the Nepal government has prioritized managing the country's rescue operations through local mechanisms.

While international cooperation is important in the event of a major natural disaster, the final decision on the entry of foreign rescue teams will be taken by the Nepal government itself. If the situation worsens, this stance is likely to change.
