A fresh controversy has erupted in after a video allegedly showing a DGP-rank IPS officer engaging in inappropriate behaviour with women inside his office surfaced in the public domain.
Unlike earlier scandals involving political figures, this incident reportedly involves a serving senior police officer, raising serious questions about discipline, ethics, and conduct within the police department.
The video is said to feature Dr. Ramachandra Rao, a DGP-rank officer currently serving as Director General of Police at the Civil Rights Enforcement Directorate. According to available information, the footage was secretly recorded inside the DGPโs office.
Sources claim the video captures the officer interacting closely with women during official working hours. The women are said to have visited the office on different occasions and were reportedly dressed differently each time. The footage allegedly shows the officer hugging and kissing them while in uniform and performing official duties.
While there are no allegations that the women were coerced, the conduct shown has drawn sharp criticism for violating the dignity, discipline, and ethical standards expected of a senior police officer. The fact that the alleged acts occurred inside a government office during duty hours has further intensified public outrage.
The matter has reportedly reached the attention of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, with sources indicating the video has angered the state leadership. Political and administrative circles are closely watching how the government will respond.
The authenticity of the video and the possibility of disciplinary or legal action against the officer are now central to public debate, once again placing the accountability of senior officials under sharp scrutiny.
