We are bothering about our future, but it is very disheartening that our leaders — whether UGs, bureaucrats, or CSOs — seem to have no real concern for the Naga nation. Many have been corrupted by the strategy of Indian money politics. Everybody is busy building bungalows, luxury houses, and securing their children’s future, which is becoming a betrayal to the Nagas.
Covering themselves under the name of Naga freedom fighters or national workers, they are gradually giving away our rights at the cost of crores, only for their own interests and personal benefit.
The saddest part is that even those working under NNC (FGN) and NSCN (GPRN) are now saying or thinking that sovereignty is not impossible, just as the Government of India wants. You may already be aware that even some top national workers have said similar things on many occasions during their speeches, which is very disturbing.
We do not have much hope in the present leaders. But since the Naga nation was created by God with His own initiative, will, and purpose to become a SECOND ISRAEL.
The purpose of becoming a SECOND ISRAEL is to spread the Good News of salvation through JESUS CHRIST. This mission was given to the Naga people through the motto NAGALAND FOR CHRIST and through the eternal covenant made by the Naga people at Pfutsero in 1976, promising to send 10,000 missionaries to the world.
Alas! We Nagas have still not succeeded in fulfilling the promise we made before God back in 1976. Today, the Naga nation has become divided into many pieces because of denominations, associations, factions, tribalism, and many other differences.
With a very heavy heart, I say this: many present-generation leaders have deviated from our national cause. Instead, they are focusing on building their own lives and securing their children’s future.
But I am sure that one day they will reflect on what they have done in their lives and shed tears for their actions.
I also believe that even though the present generation of leaders has failed to defend the history, identity, and birthright sovereignty of the Naga nation, one day God will raise a truly patriotic leader who will stand firm and defend our birthright and sovereignty.
Do not be brainwashed by strong, emotional, or challenging speeches made by many present-generation leaders on social media or elsewhere. Some who once truly stood and spoke for the Naga people are now working for the Indian government with the same spirit, energy, and speeches they once used for the Naga cause.
I do not know how or why they changed, but if you genuinely care for the Naga nation, think wisely and do not be fooled by such activities.
Do not worry. Be patient, and keep sharing what we believe to be our birthright sovereignty with your friends, family circle, and beyond.
Maybe not today, or even tomorrow, but praise God — one day we will be free from oppression.
