TSA-B holds annual meet

IMPHAL, Jul 21: The Thadou Students’ Association, Bangalaru had organised its first ever Freshers’ welcome annual meet 2014 on July 16 last, conveyed it in a press release.

AIR news on facebook

IMPHAL, Jul 21: The Regional News Unit (RNU) of All India Radio, Imphal has made its presence on social networking site-Facebook from Monday. The Manipuri morning news bulletin at 7:30, mid-day news at noon, FM headlines at 2 pm and 4 pm, evening news at 7:30 will now be available on its Facebook account – Airnews Imphal. News-based progra-mmes such as Matamgi Wafam, Paogi Saktam and Jillagi Chithi produced by the RNU will also be available on this Facebook account, con-veyed a press release.
RNU, Imphal is the first RNU in the eight North-Eastern states of the country including Sikkim to make its presence on social media. The new media platform will be a mechanism for feedback assessment on public domain for the news and news-based programme of the RNU, AIR, Imphal, it said.

NSCN (K) cadre arrested

IMPHAL, Jul 19: Troops of Red Shield Division apprehended one armed cadre of NSCN (K) today. Based on specific input about presence of an armed cadre in general area Happy Colony in Nonei III, troops of Red Shield Division cordoned the suspected house and apprehended one armed cadre of NSCN (K), namely, self styled sgt Gairiupou Gonmei alias Heala s/o Guigong Gonmei (23) of NagajengI village in Tamenglong district alongwith one 9mm pistol, one magazine, four live rounds, eight rounds of M-16 and one mobile phone.
The apprehendee alongwith recoveries was handed over to Patsoi Police Station, said a press release issued by PIB (DW).

New Delhi, July 6: Few days after Assamese girl was found murdered in a train in UP, another boy from Manipur identified as Wilungbou (Zeliangrong community) was allegedly beaten to death by the locals in Chirag Delhi last night around 11pm. The body was found in a drainage. The body is now in AIIMS. No one arrested until this hour. Delhi Police, where are the killers? Pull up them as soon as possible!
Its a high time Northeasternershas to rock the capital furiously. How many lives been lost now? Count them...It will never end. Peaceful protests and several rounds of meetings has no good results.

Winger operators seek help to solve ransom issue

Lamka, Jul 5: The Churachandpur-Imphal Taxi owners Society which operates Tata Wingers between Churachandpur and Imphal today made an open appeal to help them in solving monetary demands made by UG groups on the society.
The society said that it wants the law enforcing agencies and the general public to know that monetary demands have been made to the society by various underground groups and the dateline superimposed by one of the non SoO groups expires on July 5.
Claiming that the society is serving the public by offering them a convenient means of conveyance it appeal on the security establishment as well as the public to help them solve the issue.
