PM Modi calls for harmony in violence-torn Manipur
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his first-ever visit to Manipur since ethnic violence erupted in the State, met separate groups of people in Churachandpur and Imphal on Saturday (September 13, 2025), who were among the 60,000 people displaced from their homes in 2023. A Bench headed by Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai had heard the case back-to-back for three days in May, the very same month he took over as top judge. The hearing was wrapped up on May 22 and the case was reserved for judgment.

Three Maoists carrying a total reward of âš24 lakh were killed in an anti-Maoist operation conducted in Chhattisgarhâs Bijapur district for the past two days, said a police officer on Saturday (September 13, 2025). As reported earlier, the police had declared on Friday (September 12, 2025) that two Maoists had been killed, and one more body was recovered on Saturday (September 13, 2025) under the same operation, Superintendent of Police (Bijapur) Jitendra Kumar Yadav said.

Since a failed summit with the United States in 2019, North Korea has repeatedly said it will never give up its nuclear weapons and declared itself an âirreversibleâ nuclear state. While visiting weapons research facilities this week, Mr. Kim said Pyongyang "would put forward the policy of simultaneously pushing forward the building of nuclear forces and conventional armed forces", according to the state-run Korean Central News Agency.
