Truth is often challenged, restricted and punished for being spoken. Across the world, journalists are threatened, silenced, harassed, jailed and even killed for refusing to support corruption, misuse of power and those who demand silence. Press freedom today is fragile and in many places it barely exists.Yet journalism continues because silence is not neutrality, it is submission.

As journalists, we still speak, still write, still expose. Stand with the press because when journalism is crushed truth does not bend it dies 🖋️🕊️.

Rooted in the struggles of 1886, the Haymarket Affair, May 1 established the demand for an eight-hour workday: 8 hours for work, 8 hours for rest, and 8 hours for life ⚖️.
