साहित्यकार सानु लामा (पद्मश्रीद्वारा सम्मानित) को सिलगढ़ीको नर्सिङ होममा आज बिहान ६:३० बजी निधन भएको छ।१९३९ मा जन्मिएका गरुड सिहं लामाको साहित्यिक नाम सानु लामाले चर्चित हुनुहुन्थ्यो। भारतको पद्मश्री पदकद्वारा सम्मानित सम्मानित भएका बरिष्ठ साहित्यकार सानु लामा हिज राती जसटीएन एम अस्पतालमा सोचेगाङ गान्तोकमा साह्रो भएपछि सिलगढ़ी नियोटिया नर्सिङ होममा रेफर गरिएको थियो। परिवारको तर्फबाट दिइएको जानकारीअनुसार आज बिहान ठीक ६:३० बजी उपचारको क्रममा उनको निधन भयो। उनी अहिले ८८ वर्ष मा हिँड्दै थिए। गत केही दिनअघि रूघा मारकीले थलिएका थिए अनि‌ उपचारको निम्ति अस्पतालमा भर्ना गरिएको थियो। उनको पार्थिव शरीर आज गान्तोक ल्याइनेछ।

रिम्बिक क्षेत्रको एक मात्र साहित्यिक संस्था
मुस्कान समूहले भानु जयन्ती मनाउने भएको छ। सोही दिन समूहले साहित्य अकादमी युवा पुरस्कार २०२५ , प्रापक सुवास ठकुरीलाई सम्मान जनाउने निश्चय गरिएको संस्थाले जनाएको छ। कवि सुवास ठकुरी मुस्कान समूहका एक कर्तव्यनिष्ठ कवि हुन्। उनले धेरै समय अघि देखि संस्थामा रहेर साहित्यिक गतिविधिहरुमा आफ्नो संलग्नता दिइरहेका छन्। हाल उनी संस्थाका उपाध्यक्षको पदमा विराजमान छन्। मुस्कान समूहका कवि सुवास ठकुरीलाई साहित्य अकादमी दिल्लीद्वारा उक्त पुरस्कारका निम्ति घोषित भएपछि समूहले उनलाई सम्मान गर्ने भएको जानकारी सभापति कमल भट्टराई अनि सचिव सुरेन सुब्बाले दिएका छन्।

स्मरण रहोस्, कवि सुवास ठकुरीको कविता संग्रह जूनको आँशु - लाई यस वर्षको साहित्य अकादमी युवा पुरस्कारले पुरस्कृत गरिएको हो।

I have reached out to the Honorable Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari ji, with a request to upgrade the Matigara-Garidhura-Mirik section of West Bengal State Highway 12 (SH 12) to National Highway status. This stretch plays a critical role in regional connectivity, economic growth, and strategic importance along the Indo-Nepal border.

As a gateway to the Darjeeling hills, this route connects India with Nepal, and provides access to Mirik, a popular tourist destination, where improved infrastructure would boost the local economy and tourism.

Upgrading this highway would reduce travel time, offer an alternative route to Darjeeling, and stimulate job creation in construction and maintenance. It would also improve access to markets, healthcare, and education, fostering inclusive growth for the local communities.

Moreover, this section of SH 12 runs parallel to the Indo-Nepal border, making it vital for cross-border trade, tourism, and regional security. Elevating it to National Highway status will enhance connectivity with Nepal and strengthen India’s ties with neighboring countries.

I am most hopeful that the Hon'bme Minister will kindly consider this request to unlock the region’s potential and support its economic and strategic growth.
