भारत की अंतरिक्ष शक्ति को बड़ा बढ़ावा देते हुए, लैंडर (विक्रम) और 26 किलोग्राम के रोवर (प्रज्ञान) वाले एलएम ने एक सप्ताह से भी कम समय के बाद शाम 6.04 बजे चंद्रमा के दक्षिणी ध्रुवीय क्षेत्र के पास सॉफ्ट लैंडिंग की।रोवर का नाम 'प्रज्ञान' संस्कृत में ज्ञान के लिए है।
