Congress today attacked Modi Government over the beating to death of a musician from Manipur here, alleging that Delhi has become the "crime capital" under Home Minister Amit Shah's watch and asking what the Home Ministry is doing to stop "growing lawlessness".
Opposition party demanded a swift investigation into the incident and that the culprits be brought to justice.
C. Vikram Singh, a 54-year-old Manipuri musician, died after a group of delivery workers and dhaba staff allegedly assaulted him when he objected to their shouting and drinking alcohol outside his Kilokari Village apartment early Monday, officials said.

2 WOMEN KILLED IN LIGHTNING AT JHARKHAND!

Two women were killed and three others were seriously injured as a bolt of lightning struck them in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharswan District today, Police said.
Incident occurred in a village in Tiruldih Police Station in Chandil sub-division when the victims were working in a field, Chandil Sub-divisional Police Office Shiv Prakash Kumar tolPress.
Two women died on the spot, and three other women were seriously injured and taken to a hospital, where they are undergoing treatment, he added.

3 DEAD IN BUILDING-COLLAPSE AT DELHI!

Around 50-year-old five-storey building housing a boys' hostel in a congested bylane at Satya Niketan near Delhi University's South Campus collapsed today leaving three students dead and many trapped, officials said.
Eight people have been pulled out of the debris, so far,, of whom, two were brought dead to the hospital, while a third one died during treatment. Five are critical, Police informed.
Locals claimed that around 40 to 50 people were still trapped under the debris of the building, which comprised a basement and five upper floors. Authorities have not given a figure of the trapped.
Reportedly, repair work was under way in the basement of the structure, which was used as a paying guest accommodation, when it collapsed at around 1.30 p.m., a senior officer said.
Locals claimed that the collection of water over days of rain in the basement had weakened the building's foundation, leading to its eventual collapse.
Two N.D.R.F. teams comprising 70 personnel and a canine squad had been deployed to look for signs of life. Oxygen cylinders were dropped under the rubble for those stuck to breathe, a N.D.R.F. officer said. Fire tenders too were stationed at the site.
The area is marked by narrow, congested bylanes lined with eateries and P.G. accommodations catering mainly to students.
A police officer said the structure was nearly 50 years old.

The words of Armed Police Force Inspector Suman Bik, quoted by Kantipur online portal, capture the extraordinary circumstances in which a 60-year-old woman was found alive on Saturday – 10 days after floods swept through Nepal's Bhotekoshi River basin, killing more than 1,300 and leaving around 5,000 missing.
Chandika Shrestha of Betrawati in Bidur Municipality of Nuwakot District, was found on the top floor of a four-storey house that had been buried under flood debris.
