“The opposite of a hero is not a villain, it’s a bystander.”
“हीरो का उल्टा विल्लन नहीं होता, हीरो का उल्टा होता है, तमाशबीन...”
Dosto, by now, most people in my circle know how significant this quote is to us. What many may not know is that this very quote led to the creation of The Jai Hind Project. It was a wake-up call, a powerful jolt that pushed us from mere conversation to action.
Today, The Jai Hind Project is dedicated to researching grassroots heroes and the issues they are tackling. We create films about these heroes and their work, and have started taking these stories to schools, universities, and wherever the youth may be, to provide India with better role models and heroes. Our aim is to nurture the empathy that our society so desperately needs and to inspire people to act when they witness injustice.
But none of this would have been possible if I hadn’t looked up a certain Prof. Philip Zimbardo, and he hadn’t directed me to a class where the author of this quote was the teacher. Ladies and gentlemen, we are thrilled to announce that Mr. Matt Langdon, the teacher of that very special class (and the author of the quote we hold so dear), will be visiting India as a guest of The Jai Hind Project.
And we don’t want to keep this opportunity to ourselves. He is here to speak to as many of us as possible about everyday heroism—how it can be cultivated, and why it is one of the most crucial qualities that our children, youth, and all of us should embody.
So, here’s my invitation to you: invite Matt Pahjee to your organization, university, or school. Let people hear him while he’s here and make the most of this rare occasion. We will be more than happy to handle all RSVPs for his engagements.
For assistance, please contact Pallavi, the CEO of The Jai Hind Project, at [email protected]
She will be happy to help you coordinate and manage this opportunity.
Jai Hind!
