DL, HR, UP…

Keep Left, Uphill priority, mountain-side priority, overtaking protocol, engine braking, 5-car rule.
Devbhoomi में guest बनकर चलो. Pahad ko game mat banao.

Battle for Faith: Why Agastyamuni Locals Demolished the Gate for their Devta?
In the heart of Rudraprayag, a 15-year-old wait for the sacred Devra Yatra of Rishi Agastya (Muni Maharaj) turned into a standoff between ancient tradition and current administration. Why were the Isht Dev of thousands forced to wait on the highway? Why did the devotees take matters into their own hands?
In this ground report, we bring you the complete, chronological story of what happened on January 14th and 15th, 2026, at Agastyamuni.

The Story
For centuries, the Doli of Muni Maharaj has followed a sacred path from the temple to its Dyuka or Sain(Sacred Ground). However, the ongoing construction for a sports stadium and a "shedded gate" at a place where this doli tradition has been followed for centuries, created a bottleneck-both physical and spiritual. According to local tradition, the Doli cannot pass under any roof or shedded gate, and locals claim that they had already requested the administration to remove it before the yatra began, but no action was taken. On the day of the yatra, too, they tried calling several officials but in vain.
When the administration failed to respond to hours of peaceful pleading, the situation escalated. From the heartbreak of Day 1 to the raw defiance of Day 2, we show you the raw footage of men and women protecting their "Isht Dev" at any cost.

The Legal Battle
The administration has pressed charges against 52 individuals for the demolition of the shed.

Disclaimer:
Note: This documentary is a journalistic record based on direct accounts, claims, and traditional beliefs shared by the local devotees and residents of Agastyamuni. This report reflects the situation as it unfolded on the ground and does not represent our personal interpretation.
