Fed up with physical assault and constant suspicion, a woman along with her friends in Jaipur killed her husband on Saturday. During probe, police found that the accused had searched online and even watched crime web series to plan the murder of e-rickshaw driver Manoj.

Santosh Devi had grown close to co-accused Rishi Srivastava while working at a bedsheet factory. As their bond deepened, they decided to kill Manoj. Rishi’s friend Mohit Sharma also joined them, and the three looked up on Google how to kill someone and escape. They also studied famous murder cases shown in web series.

The trio bought fresh SIM cards and checked possible spots to carry out the crime.

On Saturday, Mohit took Manoj’s e-rickshaw towards the ISKCON temple. A few minutes later, Rishi joined, and they diverted the rickshaw to an empty farmhouse area. There, Manoj’s throat was slit with a sharp bedsheet cutter. The two men then changed their clothes, switched off phones and tried to cover their tracks.

As the place had no CCTV, police scanned nearby cameras and traced the accused. During questioning, the three revealed they had been planning the murder for about a month.

The 91-year-old was admitted to a private hospital in Thane, Mumbai, where he had been under medical care for his age-releated ailments. A new WhatsApp screen sharing scam is putting users at serious risk. Cybercriminals trick people during a video or voice call, convincing them to share their screen. Once given access, scammers can see everything—bank details, OTPs, login credentials, even private chats.

These frauds often begin with someone pretending to be a bank official, customer care executive, or government officer. Victims are told there’s an issue with their account or that help is being offered for a service.

The scammers then guide users step by step to install a screen-sharing or remote access app. With the screen visible in real time, every action—from entering a net banking password to typing an OTP—gets exposed instantly.

In some cases, instead of screen sharing, victims are asked to download malicious software like keyloggers, which secretly record keystrokes and send them to the fraudster. The result? Stolen money, compromised accounts, and identity misuse.

In a startling statement inside the Karnataka Legislative Council, member SL Bhojegowda claimed he had overseen the poisoning of at least 2,800 stray dogs to curb what he described as a growing menace on the streets. His remarks surfaced only days after the Supreme Court directed authorities to remove stray dogs from Delhi NCR localities.

Bhojegowda told the House that the dogs were fed poisoned meat and later buried in coconut plantations and coffee estates. “To address the stray dog menace, 2,800 dogs were killed and buried in coconut gardens and coffee estates,” he said, according to Kannada Prabha.

Defending his actions, the legislator insisted the problem disproportionately endangers children from poor families. “Children of judges, ministers and legislators, who travel by cars and other vehicles, may not be affected. But children from poor families, who walk to school, face the danger of being attacked by stray dogs,” he said.

Bhojegowda also pointed out that the issue was not confined to rural pockets. “The menace is prevalent even in Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park,” he told the Council, pressing his case for stronger measures to address the stray dog population.

His declaration has ignited outrage, with animal rights advocates and citizens condemning the remarks as cruel and unacceptable, demanding accountability for the shocking admission.
