Simple Paan Modak recipe

---

🌿 Paan Modak Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Modak Shell:

2 cups grated khoya (mawa)

1 cup powdered sugar

2–3 drops green food color (optional)

1 tbsp ghee

For the Paan Flavour:

4 fresh betel (paan) leaves, finely chopped

2 tbsp gulkand (rose petal preserve)

1 tbsp fennel seeds (saunf), roasted & powdered

1 tbsp desiccated coconut (optional)

1 tsp cardamom powder

Chopped tutti frutti / candied fennel for garnish (optional)

Method:

1. Prepare the khoya base

Heat a pan and add ghee.

Add grated khoya and sauté on low flame until soft and aromatic.

Add powdered sugar and mix well until it forms a soft dough.

Let it cool slightly. Divide into two parts – one plain and one for paan flavor.

2. Prepare Paan stuffing

Mix chopped betel leaves, gulkand, fennel powder, coconut, and cardamom.

This will be your aromatic paan filling.

3. Shape the modak

Grease modak moulds with ghee.

Take a small portion of khoya mixture, press inside the mould.

Fill with ½ tsp paan stuffing.

Cover with more khoya mixture and press well.

Gently unmould the modak.

4. Garnish & Serve

Optionally, roll the modaks in chopped candied fennel or drizzle with gulkand syrup.

Refrigerate for 30 mins before serving for best texture.

✅ Tip: If you don’t have khoya, you can also use milk powder + condensed milk as a base.

Ganesh चतुर्थी पर कुछ अलग तरीके से Modak बनाए

Chocolate Modak (kids’ favorite 🎉)

Ingredients:

1 cup grated khoya (mawa)

½ cup powdered sugar

2 tbsp cocoa powder (or melted chocolate)

1 tsp ghee

Method:

1. Heat ghee in a pan, add khoya and stir for 2–3 mins.

2. Add cocoa powder + sugar, mix well.

3. Once slightly cool, shape into modaks using a mould.

Dry Fruit Modak (healthy, no cooking)

Ingredients:

1 cup dates (seedless)

½ cup mixed nuts (cashew, almond, pistachio)

1 tbsp ghee

½ tsp cardamom powder

Method:

1. Finely chop or pulse dates & nuts in a mixer.

2. Heat ghee, add dates, stir till soft.

3. Mix in nuts + cardamom powder.

4. Cool slightly, shape into modaks (with or without mould)

Here's a traditional Marathi-style Modak recipe—especially popular during Ganesh Chaturthi. This version is for Ukadiche Modak (steamed modaks), which are Lord Ganesha’s favorite.

🥥 Traditional Ukadiche Modak Recipe (Marathi Style)

📌 Ingredients

For the filling (Saran):

Fresh grated coconut – 2 cups

Jaggery (chopped or grated) – 1 cup

Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp

Nutmeg powder – a pinch (optional)

Ghee – 1 tsp

Poppy seeds (khus khus) – 1 tsp (optional)

For the outer covering (Ukad):

Rice flour – 1 cup (fine variety, preferably modak flour)

Water – 1¼ cups

Salt – a pinch

Ghee – 1 tsp (plus more for greasing)

🍳 Method

1. Prepare the Filling (Saran):

1. Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan.

2. Add poppy seeds (if using) and lightly roast.

3. Add grated coconut and jaggery.

4. Stir continuously on medium flame until jaggery melts and mixes with coconut.

5. Add cardamom powder and nutmeg (if using).

6. Cook till mixture is slightly dry (but still moist). Don’t overcook.

7. Let it cool. Keep aside.

2. Prepare the Dough (Ukad):

1. Boil 1¼ cups water in a pan with a pinch of salt and 1 tsp ghee.

2. Once it comes to a rolling boil, lower the flame and add the rice flour gradually.

3. Stir quickly and vigorously to avoid lumps. Turn off the heat.

4. Cover and let it rest for 5–10 minutes.

5. While still warm, knead into a soft, smooth dough. Use a little water or ghee if needed.

> Tip: You can cover the dough with a damp cloth to avoid drying.

3. Shaping the Modaks:

Traditional way (by hand):

1. Grease your palms.

2. Take a small ball of dough, flatten into a small disc.

3. Shape into a small bowl/cup with fingers.

4. Add 1-2 tsp coconut filling.

5. Pleat the edges and bring together to form a pointed tip.

Using a modak mould:

1. Grease the mould.

2. Press small dough into both sides of the mould.

3. Fill with coconut mixture.

4. Seal the base with a little dough.

5. Gently open the mould and remove the shaped modak.

4. Steaming the Modaks:

1. Heat water in a steamer or pressure cooker (without whistle).

2. Place modaks on a greased banana leaf or steamer plate.

3. Steam for 10–15 minutes on medium flame.

4. Modaks will turn slightly translucent when done.

🍽️ Serve

Serve hot modaks with a drizzle of ghee on top. Offer to Lord Ganesha first!

Ganesh Chaturthi ke pavitra avsar par Motichur Laddu banane ki recipe

🍬 Motichur Laddu ki Recipe (Bundi se)

🕒 Samay:

Tayari ka samay: 15 min

Pakane ka samay: 30 min

Kul samay: 45 min

Quantity: Lagbhag 12-15 laddu (size ke anusar)

📝 Samagri:

Bundi ke liye:

Besan (gram flour) – 1 cup

Paani – 3/4 cup (lagbhag)

Oranje food color – 1-2 boond (optional)

Baking soda – 1 chhoti chhutki

Ghee ya tel – Talne ke liye

Chashni ke liye:

Cheeni (sugar) – 1 cup

Paani – 1/2 cup

Elaichi powder – 1/2 chhoti chamach

Kesar – 4-5 reshe (optional)

Gulab jal – 1 chhoti chamach (optional)

Anya:

Choti elaichi – 4-5 (kuti hui)

Badam ya pista – 1-2 chammach (bareek kate huye, sajavat ke liye)

Ghee – 2 chammach (laddu bandhne ke liye)

👨‍🍳 Vidhi:

1. Bundi banana:

1. Besan ko chhanni se chhan kar ek baartan mein lein.

2. Usme paani dheere-dheere daal kar smooth batter bana lein (na jyada gaadha, na jyada patla).

3. Color aur baking soda daal kar mix karein.

4. Ek kadahi mein ghee/tel garam karein. (Madhyam aanch par)

5. Ek perforated chammach (boondi jharni) lein. Uske upar se batter daal kar chhoti-chhoti bundiyan banne dein.

6. Bundiyan halka golden hone tak tal kar nikaal lein. (Zyada crisp nahi hone dena)

2. Chashni banana:

1. Cheeni aur paani ko ek pan mein daal kar ubalne dein.

2. 1 taar ki chashni tayar karein (Anguthi aur anguthe se chhipak kar taar jaisi lage).

3. Usme elaichi powder, kesar aur gulab jal daal kar mix karein.

3. Laddu banana:

1. Tali hui bundiyan chashni mein daal dein aur 10-15 minute tak bhigo kar rakhein.

2. Thoda thanda hone par, is mix ko mixer grinder mein 1-2 pulse dekar thoda sa crush kar lein (poori paste nahi).

3. Ab 2 chammach ghee daal kar haath se mix karein.

4. Apne haathon se laddoo bana lein.

5. Upar se sukhme mewe se sajaayein.

💡 Tips:

Agar laddu bandhne mein mushkil ho, to thoda sa aur ghee ya warm milk daal sakte hain.

Food color optional hai, asli motichur laddu mein halka orange hota hai.

सर्दियों में अपने घर में बैठे बैठे अपनी चाय का जायका बढ़ाये

Ingredients of this Chai Masala

Green cardamom - 25 gm
Cloves - 25 gm
Black pepper - 20 gm
Cinnamon sticks - 50 gm
Nutmeg powder - 1 tsp
Dry ginger - 100 gm
Dry holy basil leaves - 20 gm

Important note -
*If dry leaves are not available then you can use fresh leaves, at the time of making tea, not in masala.

हरी इलायची - 25 ग्राम
लौंग - 25 ग्राम
काली मिर्च - 20 ग्राम
दालचीनी की छड़ें - 50 ग्राम
जायफल पाउडर - 1 चम्मच
सोंठ - 100 ग्राम
सूखी तुलसी की पत्तियाँ - 20 ग्राम

महत्वपूर्ण नोट -
*अगर सूखी पत्तियां न हो तो फ्रेश पत्तिया यूज़ कर सकते है,चाय बनाने के टाइम पर, मसाले में नहीं
