For a variety of reasons, boundaries are important, and they can take many different forms. So it’s essential to set them without feeling bad about it. They are essentially a type of self-care, and we deliberately want to include more of it in our daily lives.

Determining the boundaries that are most important to you and the best ways to enforce them may take some time and thought, but the work will be worth it in the long run for your mental health.

In 1969, Elisabeth Kübler-Ross described five common stages of grief, popularly referred to as DABDA.

Denial: Denial is the stage that can initially help you survive the loss. You start to deny the news and, in effect, go numb.

Anger: This typical emotion makes you wonder, "Why me?" "Life's not fair," and You might try to find someone else to blame for your sadness, and you might even turn your rage against close friends and family.

Bargaining: this stage is false hope. You might falsely make yourself believe that you can avoid the grief through a type of negotiation.

Depression: A well-known expression of grief is depression. It symbolises the void we experience when we are living in the present and know the person or circumstance is over or gone.

Acceptance: Acceptance is the final stage of sorrow according to Kübler-Ross. Your emotions may start to stabilise at this point.
