Having been in publishing trade for over 4 decades already, the directors recently decided to join hands and start their own venture to focus more on youth oriented subjects and thus was born V&S Publishers. How is an Olympiad book actually made?

Olympiads sit in a strange place. The subject is school-level. The exam is competitive. A book that treats it like either one alone will fail the student.

So the work is reverse engineering. Who is the student. What does the paper actually test. What pedagogy holds up under exam pressure. And then the part most books skip entirely: the learning curve. If chapter one and chapter twelve feel the same, the book is a question bank, not a preparation tool.

First Prize for Excellence in Book Production.

V&S Publishers received the award at the 46th Annual Awards of the Federation of Indian Publishers, held at The Claridges, New Delhi on 22 August, presented by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Judge, Supreme Court of India.

Book production is the part of publishing nobody sees. The paper stock, the binding that holds after the hundredth open, the cover that survives a Delhi summer in a school bag. Three generations of doing it carefully, and it is quietly satisfying to have it named.
