Social Activist Irfan Sarwar has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating environmental condition at one of the famous tourist destinations of Lolab Valley, Kariwan Lolab.
During his recent visit to the scenic spot, Irfan Sarwar observed huge amounts of garbage scattered around the area, including plastic waste and other litter thrown carelessly near and inside the water bodies. He stated that such irresponsible behaviour is badly affecting the natural beauty and peaceful environment of the tourist destination, which is known for its breathtaking landscapes and crystal-clear surroundings.
He said that if immediate steps are not taken, the environmental damage may become irreversible and the charm of the area could be lost in the coming years. He added that tourism not only represents the beauty of the region but also reflects the responsibility of the people towards nature.
Irfan Sarwar appealed to the concerned administration and municipal authorities to take strict action against those polluting tourist spots and to ensure proper waste management facilities at the location. He also requested authorities to install dustbins, awareness signboards, and monitoring systems to maintain cleanliness in the area.
Furthermore, he made a heartfelt appeal to the general public and tourists visiting Kariwan Lolab to act responsibly and avoid throwing garbage, plastic bottles, food wrappers, or any waste material in the area.
“Nature is a blessing and it is our collective responsibility to protect and preserve it for future generations. Save nature, save our environment,” he said.
He urged everyone to cooperate in keeping tourist places clean so that the beauty of Lolab Valley remains untouched and attractive for visitors from across the region.
