Gond artist Mayank Shyam's solo show 'Arboreal Havens' has commenced at a new art gallery in Delhi - Inherited Arts Forum.

Mayank had made a mark in the world of art as he was featured in the book 'Freedom Sixty Years After Indian Independence,’ in 2007 alongside many senior artists.

Born in 1987 to renowned Gond artists Jangarh Singh Shyam and Nankusia Bai, Mayank Shyam is an acclaimed Gond artist himself, and one of the youngest members of the Jangarh School.

Mayank has his own distinct style of painting, and he often depicts modern cities infused with a Gond ethos. He frequently depicts birds in his paintings. Many of his works are black and white compositions.

Kavita Singh, renowned art historian passed away at the age of 59 after battling cancer for two years.

She was the recipient of numerous
accolades including her the Infosys Prize for her study of Mughal, Rajput, and Deccan art.

Her work highlighted the significance of museums in creating the social impact of art and thereby, related visual culture to large contemporary questions of secularity, modernity, and political conflict.

Singh served at the Jawaharlal Nehru University’s School of Arts and Aesthetics, where she taught for nearly two decades since it was founded, while also serving as its dean.

She was an art curator at the National Museum and wrote several books such as 'New Insights Into Sikh Art', 'InFlux: Contemporary Art in Asia', and 'No Touching, No Spitting, No Praying: The Museum in South Asia', among other publications.

In perspective, , helmed a panel discussion 'The impact of AI on the art industry' on concluding it's exhibition 'Landscapes in Flux' at on 27th July.

Singer Sonam Kalra becomes the only Indian musician to win three times in a single edition of Global Music Awards.

Kalra’s single 'Bol' – originally released in 2015 as a rendition of poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz’s words – has won two gold medals at the Global Music Awards, with another song – “Alfat” from 2019, an adaptation of poet-saint Baba Bulleh Shah’s work – winning a silver medal for Outstanding Achievement in the World Fusion Music category.

Kalra took to social media to announce the news. She thanked her bandmates from the Sufi Gospel Project and teammates involved in the campaign. “And to all those who’ve supported the music, my beliefs and our journey – we could not have done it without you,” she added.
