J&K FDA Bans Sale of 10 Batches Over Safety, Quality Violations

: The and Food and Drugs Administration ( ) has prohibited the sale, storage, distribution and display of 10 identified ghee batches across the Union Territory after laboratory tests found them to be sub-standard, unsafe or misbranded.

The affected products include Dairy Mohan Desi Ghee, Apna Dairy Milk Desi Ghee, Milk Bite Cow Ghee, Nandni Desi Ghee, Shahi Taj Desi Ghee, Daawat Fresh, Nand Krishna Cow Ghee, Vandu Cow Ghee, Dairy Milk Desi Ghee and Mohan Dairy Ghee.

Laboratory tests reportedly detected foreign vegetable fat/beta-sitosterol, positive Baudouin test results, abnormal fatty-acid profiles and deviations from prescribed physicochemical parameters in the samples.

The FDA has directed food business operators, wholesalers, distributors and retailers to immediately stop dealing in the identified batches and remove them from circulation. The action followed samples collected from several locations, including Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Anantnag, Bijbehara, Tral and Pampore.

Consumers have been advised to check the brand and batch number of ghee products before purchase and avoid any of the affected batches.

Protest Erupts Over – Road; R.S. Pathania Reaches Mansar

: Tension prevailed in area amid a protest over the poor condition and delay in restoration of the Samba–Mansar road, with local residents announcing, “The road is our right.”

Residents staged a against the Border Roads Organisation ( ) and observed a complete shutdown, expressing strong resentment over the prolonged issue.

Amid the protest, BJP leader R.S. Pathania reached Mansar and listened to the concerns of the protesting residents.

According to the latest report, the authorities have been given 15 days’ time to work out a strategy and address the issue. Protesters maintained that the demand for a proper road is a basic right of the people and warned that the agitation would continue if concrete action is not taken.
