FACEBOOK ADS VS GOOGLE ADS.
Hey there, as digital marketers and business owners.
There is a common misconception/question about choosing the right platform for advertising your product or service.
Facebook (meta) and Google are two giants with a combined audience of 90 percent of the world's population.
As shown by statistics, Google has 4.5 billion active users and Facebook has 2.5 billion per month.
Google owns Google Ads, YouTube Ads, Google Display Network, Google Consumer Surveys, and Google Ads Manager.
While Facebook (now meta) owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
While choosing the right platform to showcase your services or products, you need to understand how these platforms work.
Everyone knows how Google works. Yes, it's that simple.
If somebody needs a service product or any doubt, they all run to Google and search. "Hey Google, which is the best smartphone to buy in 2022?"
We can show our advertisements to two people who have a specific keyword that matches our product or service based on the source volume, keywords, and area of source that came from Google.
Facebook works in a different way because it is not a search engine. People from all over the world participate in the Facebook user community.
Facebook has the data of its users' names, ages, date of birth, country of residence, likes, political views, work titles, interests, and anything they put on their profile. The Facebook database combines Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
Facebook shows ads to people by letting the advertisers target their customer personas by using the above data, called demographics.
As marketers or business owners, We can target our dream customers by selecting their age, birthday, work title, annual income, political views, or things that they are interested in.
Both Facebook and Google use tracking.
Google uses Google Analytics, while Facebook uses Facebook pixel.
Both of them are a piece of code generally called a snippet, which is placed on the landing page where people come after clicking the ads.
This code will track the activities of each user and retarget them by showing ads again and again.
The data will help us to categorize the audience based on their actions.
Simply, in Google ads, people who are in need will come to you, and in Facebook ads, you have to reach out to people who are in need.
If you ask me a question, which is the better advertising platform, it does not have a specific answer.
Because both of these platforms have different ways of working, there would not be two companies doing the same thing.
If you ask my opinion, which one to choose, it's completely dependent upon your product or service, but combining both will give you a tremendous scaling opportunity.
For example, I will give you a demo method if you have a company that sells products to increase the yield of crops.
People will search on Google for how to increase the yield of a particular crop. Then your Google ad will pop up and they will click on it and end up on your landing page.
On the landing page, you have the Google Analytics snippet and the Facebook pixel. And you can retarget people using Facebook pixel and analytics also.
You can create your own recipes by testing different strategies.
