* 1 tsp black pepper
* 3 Tbsp tomato paste, sauce, or ketchup (spicy ketchup recommended)
* About ½ cup whole wheat flour or whole wheat pastry flour

Ingredients:

1 tbsp olive oil

1 medium onion, finely chopped

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)

1/2 tsp ground cumin

1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes

1 can (400g) white beans (butter beans or cannellini), drained and rinsed

1/2 cup sliced chorizo or vegan sausage (optional)

Salt & black pepper to taste

180–200g halloumi cheese, sliced

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Sauté the Base
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until soft (5–6 minutes). Add garlic and cook for another minute.

2. Add Seasoning & Tomato
Stir in smoked paprika, chili flakes, and cumin. Cook briefly to release aroma, then add the chopped tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Let cook for 10–12 minutes to reduce slightly.

3. Add Beans & Simmer
