With AI tools generating rough cuts, syncing audio, adding captions, and even suggesting edits, the role is shifting from “manually editing every frame” to defining story, pacing, and emotion.
Technical skills still matter — but leverage now comes from knowing what to show, when to show it, and how to make people feel something.
