Of Little Girls And Their Dreams

Dream my little girls dream
Dream big, dream high
Of unicorns, fairies and open skies
Not just with them closed,
You dream with open eyes

You can be future princesses
Or tomorrow’s rebel queens
make your own destiny
And carve a reality from your dreams

In this big bad world
people are left high and dry
But your dreams coupled with resolve
Will take you far and high

Couldn’t be a more apt time to share this little piece I wrote for my little girls not so long ago.. Today Aaira and Adira completed 6 years around the sun (that’s how I explained the concept of a year and its 365 days to them yesterday!).

Life is tough with the ongoing onslaught of Covid and we missed celebrating this joy with so many loved ones but so lucky to have these wonderful friends who opened their hearts and homes to be a part of our joy!

This pandemic has taught us to appreciate all that we have and to grab each moment and live it to the fullest..

The last sunset of 2020. Hopeful for a kinder, happier 2021 for everyone.
This year has been a mixed bag of extremes.
While some of us, sitting in our comfy homes (or on a working holiday elsewhere), are grateful for the little things it has helped us appreciate, others have lost everything, and in some cases everyone, they could call their own.
Despite my heartfelt gratitude for all life’s blessings, I can’t help feeling a void for those that have suffered beyond words.
As I stare at the setting sun of not just this year but this decade, some of the lessons that stare back at me are:
A happy home of people who love and respect each other is all you need to weather any storm.
Let your parents become your children as they age. They need you as much now as you needed them when you were little.
Life can be beautiful even with the most basic stuff if you want it to be.
A little good goes a long way but a little good everyday should be the way.
Love is all that matters. So, love people and use things and not the other way round.
Give - freely and lovingly. One small, loving gesture could restore someone’s faith in life. And lastly,
Believe - that tomorrow will be better, that we will be better and that we will make a better tomorrow.
Thank you 2020 for all the new lessons and for giving us a reason to revisit all the earlier ones. Welcome 2021. We are ready for you.

I feel truly blessed to have you and to have family and friends who went above and beyond to make my milestone Birthday one of my most cherished memories despite COVID restrictions.. Right from turning bartender to handcrafting customised decorations, you guys made me feel loved through the week and continue to do so..

Our journeys are unique just as our timelines.. The most regressive thing we can do is compare ourselves to others.. Hell I can’t even compare the current me to the person I was a decade ago (that’s a pic of me from 13 years ago!) so why loose my sanity over comparison with other people.. It’s neither fair to their journey nor to mine!

Rain or No Rain, I’m dressed up!!
It feels like ages since we did that, right??? The lockdown did seem to take away all desire and opportunity to look or feel pretty..
But today I realised, it’s all in the head..
We should try make the most of each beautiful day and turn it into an occasion to look and feel good, inside and out. Why wait for things to get better? Who knows what lies ahead?
Flaunting my beautiful plants wearing this steal deal I ordered online from a couple of weeks ago. It is trendy yet comfortable!
Paired with pom_pom trinkets, they make me want to smile into the mirror!!
