Inter Zonal T10 Cricket, Volleyball tournaments conclude at Kulgam

KULGAM, MARCH 28: Inter Zonal District level tournament of T-10 Cricket & Volleyball concluded at Kulgam.

These events were organised by District Administration Kulgam in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services & Sports Kulgam under the banner of " An Initiative of Youth Engagement".

DYS&SO Kulgam informed that Six teams from each zone of Kulgam participated in both Cricket and Volleyball girls tournament which was held at sports Stadium Kulgam.

After the culmination of both these tournaments award ceremony was held here at sports stadium in which Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat presented trophies and mementos to winner and runner up teams of both the tournaments.

ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather, DYS&SO Gh Hassan and other officers were also present on the occasion.

DC Kulgam chairs SFCAC meet; sanctions 190 cases of child sponsorship cases

KULGAM, MARCH 28: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat today chaired a meeting of Sponsorship and Foster Care Approval Committee (SFCAC) here at Mini-Secretariat, Kulgam.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Viqar Ahmed Giri, DSWO, Snober Altaf, Protection Officer IC, Protection Officer -NIC and representatives from NGO and other concerned.

During the meeting the committee sanctioned 190 eligible cases of sponsorship under Mission Vatsalya and decided to clear 58 cases on priority for release of payment.

At the outset of the meeting, the District Social Welfare Officer gave a presentation on various aspects of Mission Vatsalya, an umbrella scheme for child protection services in the District.

*Kulgam police held (PCPG) police community partnership group meeting at DH Pora and distributed Wheel Chairs, Crutchs and hearing aids under Civic Action Programme-2023*

To engage Police and community leaders in a dialogue to identify issues and collaboratively develop solutions that improve police community partnership, Kulgam police held PCPG meeting today at DamhalhanjiPora in which respectable citizens of DH Pora and its adjacent areas participated. The meeting was Chaired by SP Kulgam *Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS*. Besides Addl SP Kulgam *Shri Shabir Ahmad*, SHO PS DH Pora were also present in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, SP Kulgam said that the main motive of the meeting is that it is designated to improve public safety by strengthening trust and developing partnerships between police and public.

During meeting participants raised various issues of public importance and meanwhile applauded the role of police in eradicating drug menace in the area with which people especially womens are moving freely to their orchards and other places now as most of the drug peddlers are behind bars now. SP Kulgam listened the grievances patiently and thereof assured them that problems related to police will be solved on priority and those pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with concerned quarters for their early redressal.

Later, Under the aegis of *"Civic Action programme-2023"* SP Kulgam distributed Wheel Chairs, Crutchs and Hearing Aids among poor and needy people of district Kulgam. Besides SP Kulgam felicitated *Alisa Jan D/O Abdul Rashid Ganie R/O Yaroo* a young girl for his remarkable performance in sports field *(Cricket)* with cash prize and appreciation certificate to boost her morale. While interacting with beneficiaries including specially disabled persons, SP Kulgam assured them that Police Kulgam will always play its eminent role in providing every possible support to the needy people. Further he ensured all beneficiaries to maintain peace and tranquility and not indulge in criminal/subversive activities.

At the end, participants thanked SP Kulgam for conducting such events and further requested that more events should be organised in future too.

Kulgam / District Administration Kulgam and Department of Youth Service and Sports Kulgam organized a T10 Cricket Tournament on March 24, in which teams from six zones of Kulgam district are participating, including teams from Ludke and Ludki. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr. Bilal Muiuddin attended as a special guest. Along with him, ADDC Shaukat Ahmed, Youth Service and Sports Officer Kulgam, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Zeezzat Shahri, employees of Youth Service and Sports Department, and youth from youth clubs, including Ludke and Ludkiyan, were also present on this occasion. This year, this is the first tournament in the district in which cricket and volleyball games are played, in which twelve teams from six zones of Kulgam are participating, including teams from Ludke and Ludkees in these sports activities. He is a player who is enrolled in youth clubs, including Ludkiyan and Ludke, in which the district administration, Kulgam, decided to organize this tournament to encourage them to participate in open activities. Employees of Youth Service and Sports played their key role to make this tournament successful, in cricket the final match of the tournament was played between Zone Yaripora and Zone Deosar in which Deosar won the first toss and decided to bat first. , in which he scored 89 runs in the allotted ten overs, in reply Zon Yari's team won the match in the eighth over. In which they won the tournament by eight wickets, volleyball and tug-of-war matches were also played. Finally, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin distributed the prizes among the players of the youth clubs teams.

House, school damaged in Anantnag blaze

Srinagar, Mar 28 : A house and school were damaged in a mid night blaze in Siligam area of South Kashmir Anantnag district.

An official told that fire broke out at around mid night at village Siligam Aishmuqam in main market.

In the incident double storey house of khursheed Ahmad Sheikh son of Gh Hassan got completely damaged and Salfiya English Medium school also got partially damaged, he said.

Fire tenders from Aishmuqam and Seer Hamdan with the help of police and locals dosed off, and there was no loss of life/ injury in the incident, he said.

He added that cause of fire is being ascertained while further investigation has been taken up.

*Kulgam Police held a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting at Police Station Behibagh*

On the directions of Superintendent of Police Kulgam, today a Police Community Partnership Group *(PCPG)* Meet was conducted by Kulgam Police at Police Station Behibagh in order to strengthen and synergies Police Public relations. The meeting was chaired by Addl SP Kulgam Shri *Shabir Ahmad*, besides SHO Behibagh along with other officers and officials of Police Station Behibagh were also present in the meeting.

The meeeting was attended by a large number of respectable members of the area including; Numberdars and Chowkidars of Behibagh and its adjacent areas. The participants raised various issues of public importance in the meet for their immediate redressal. Speaking on the occasion, the chairing officer said that such meetings are conducted to solicit the suggestions and seeking public support for better policing in the area and this process will be continue in future as well.

He also thanked the participants for taking out time for the meeting and providing valuable suggestions for better police public bounding.
Referring to the issues highlighted by the participants, Addl SP Kulgam assured that these issues will be taken up with the concerned authorities for immediate redressal and added that police will provide its legal support as and when required for the betterment of the society.
