Peace Message | Cambodia – Thailand

Today, we speak with concern, responsibility,
and a deep commitment to peace
regarding the tension between Cambodia and Thailand.
Cambodia and Thailand are not just neighboring countries—
both are Buddhist nations,
deeply rooted in the teachings of the Buddha.
Because of this, the present conflict is not only a political or military issue.
It is also causing harm to the image of Buddhist Dhamma itself.
When violence occurs between Buddhist countries,
the world begins to question the values of
ahimsa, compassion, and loving-kindness
that the Buddha taught.
The Buddha clearly reminded us in the Dhammapada:
📜 “Na hi verena verāni
sammantīdha kudācanaṃ
averena ca sammanti
esa dhammo sanantano.”**
Hatred is never ended by hatred.
Hatred is ended only by non-hatred.
This is the eternal law of the Dhamma.
If conflict continues,
not only human lives suffer,
but the sacred message of the Buddha
is misunderstood and dishonored before the world.
Therefore, we humbly appeal to both nations—
as followers of the Buddha—
to return to the path of dialogue, restraint, and wisdom.
Peace is not defeat.
Peace is the true strength of the Dhamma.
Let Cambodia and Thailand show the world
that Buddhist nations resolve problems
through compassion, understanding, and non-violence.
No war. Only peace.
For humanity.
For the Dhamma.🙏
May all beings be happy.
