UPSC Prelims Strategy
Most UPSC aspirants read 10 books. Toppers re-read 3.
Here's the hard truth about Prelims 2025:
The exam doesn't reward knowledge. It rewards retrieval under pressure.
This means your preparation must change — right now.
✅ The 70:30 Rule
70% of your time = revision of what you already know.
30% = new material.
Most aspirants do this in reverse — and that's why they fail in the final 10 questions.
✅ Current Affairs is not a "last 6 months" game anymore.
UPSC has been pulling questions from 12–18 months back. If you're reading current affairs only from January onwards, you're already behind.
✅ CSAT is not qualifying for everyone.
If you're weak in comprehension or maths, ignoring Paper 2 is dangerous. 33% is the cutoff, but the paper has been getting trickier. Don't find that out on exam day.
