💡 From middlemen to market access: a startup changing how farmers earn
A powerful example of inclusive agritech innovation is emerging from Agrifeeder.
Founded in 2017 by brothers Raman Kumar and Rounak Kumar, and Priya Pandey, then joined by actor Neetu Chandra as a co-founder, Agrifeeder links farmers directly to consumers, improving incomes and promoting indigenous food products.
“I recognize the challenges faced by farmers in Bihar, particularly women, in accessing markets and receiving fair compensation for their hard work,” said actor Neetu Chandra, co-founder, Agrifeeder
The startup empowers over 50,000 farmers, including more than 1,000 women, by providing training, quality seeds, fertilizers, and direct market access.
💡 What makes this story important for the startup ecosystem:
• Direct market linkage improves farmer margins
• Branding + value-addition unlock rural entrepreneurship
• Women farmers gain stronger financial independence
• Shows how agritech can solve real supply-chain gaps
India’s next wave of startup growth isn’t only in SaaS or AI — it’s also in solving grassroots economic bottlenecks.
